Join us as we embark on a culinary journey at the delightful world of the five senses and the culinary Athens will soon be revealed to you. Greece is the first European country where vineyards were cultivated and wine was produced under the instructions of God Dionysus the God of wine. Greece has a 4000 year history of wine production. After your hotel pick up and a short ride towards South Athens suburbs will get you to “Pantopoleio” a small & cozy vintage restaurant that reminds Greece back in 50’s.
In the tour you will have time to taste shots of a small variety of Greek wines (red and white) plus local ones such as ouzo and tsipouro. (40-50% alcohol). During that “spirit” tasting you will taste a small variety of local traditional appetizers such as pastrami-variety of local cheeses, kebab, tirokafteri (spicy sauce), tzatziki, smoked eggplant and many more. Before we leave the place you will be more than welcome to buy any of the products in the store, or will be our pleasure to ship them back to your home.
It was the best way to start our trip in Athens. Our tour guide was very punctual, friendly and give us a lot of interesting information.

This was probably our least favorite of the tours that we took. Our guide was great but we went to only one restaurant and ate food which We were finding at restaurants on ourown when we went out to eat. The wines were also small pours

This is not much of a tour. Although the guide was nice, I did not feel much knowledge about the food or drink ordered was conveyed to me. Additionally many of the things listed in the description were not ordered. I would skip paying for this tour and simply go to restaurants and try different dishes.
