Athens Half Day Sailing Trip with Lunch and Activities

Take a refreshing break from museums and Athens city sightseeing and get out on the beautiful Aegean Sea for a ½ day of sailing fun and relaxation. We sail to the nearby uninhabited islands of Fleves and Idrousa for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and exploring nature. A delicious Greek style picnic lunch are included on this semi-private trip for up to 6 guests. You will also learn something about sailing, yachts and the sea. Ideal for families, friends, couples and suitable for all ages.

Get a taste of the “Greek Islands’ Life” while experiencing the thrill and relaxation of the sea and sailing, all while being cared for by an experienced and friendly Greek-American captain who is also the owner of the yacht. Sailing around the beautiful Saronic Gulf and islands on Athens’ southern coast is a unique and perfect compliment to your upcoming stay in the capital.

The yacht’s departure base at Alimos Marina pier 8 is only a 10 minutes drive from central Athens. After a safety briefing and tour of the yacht we set sail on a southerly course over the crystal blue Aegean Sea. Our first adventure is at Fleves Island, a 10 nautical miles fun and comfortable sail from our marina. We will anchor in a protected and beautiful bay which is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, sunbathing and relaxing. If we are lucky we may see dolphins along the way. Our guests are provided with beach towels and snorkeling gear and the yacht carries fishing poles and 2 kayaks that are shared.

Come out of the water whenever you want, rinse off and sit down to a delicious Greek style picnic lunch served under the shade and listening to your favorite music played over our stereo system, Beer, wine, water and soft drinks are included. After lunch you can “chill out” read, sleep, sunbathe and use the yacht’s WIFI hotspot while we sail a short 5 miles to our next adventure at Idrousa Island near the Athens Riviera Coast.

Idrousa is a charming private island still open to the public whose only permanent inhabitants are wild rabbits! Popular with weekend boaters from the neighborhood, this small scenic island features a calm sandy beach, interesting walking paths and wonderful landscapes to be explored. There is even an old abandoned beach taverna that has been turned into a beachcomber’s refuge. We anchor just off the beach and you can choose to either swim the short distance, kayak ashore, or be taken in with the yacht’s dinghy.
We stay and enjoy Idrousa island for an hour or so before departing back to the marina and arriving in the late afternoon.
