Athens Half-Day Grand Sightseeing Electric Bike Tour

You will dive back in time to discover the many faces of Athens spread around a 13km circle. You will witness ancient ruins, Byzantine churches, Ottoman mosques and neoclassical manors designed by European architects of 19th century. Athens has been mistress, trophy or shelter for many armies and civilizations. Romans, Visigoths, Byzantines, Slavs, Arabs, Franks, Catalans, Florentine, Turks, Venetians, English, German, Russians, Americans and they all left their own tracks. In this exciting urban adventure you will explore the Athens’ famous antiquities and also more significant sights of Athens while be amazed of tales about some very interesting Athenians.

You move towards the wall built by Hasekis and reach Hadrian's Gate, a reference point in Athens during the Roman occupation. It offers a view of the magnificent ruins of the largest Greek temple "Temple of Olympian Zeus”. From there you reach Zappeion Megaron, the 19th century mansion, hosted participants of the first modern Olympic Games and is next to the Panathenaic Stadium, symbol of the Greek athletic tradition.

You witness the Presidential mansion situated on Herodou Attikou street before move to Kolonaki, the famous district of Athens’ aristocrats. From there you cycle to the National Garden the oldest and most famous botanical garden. Exiting the the park, you reach the Parliament and Syntagma square where stand the soldiers of the Presidential Guard wearing their traditional uniforms, called "tsoliades".

The Numismatic Museum, the once residence of famous archaeologist Sliman, is next to three great mansions of modern day Greece, the Academy of Athens, the University and the National library. You cycle by the first palace of king Otto and reach the commercial area of 19th century through Eolou and Athinas streets.

Follow the cobbled streets of Psirri to the museum of Islamic art and from there enter Ermou street and Kerameikos archaeological site. You will observe the old gas factory, that has been turned into an industrial museum and a venue that hosts many events. 

As you ride around the archeological area of the northern side of the Acropolis, Plaka alleys are revealed. Through those, Hadrian's street and Filomousou square you experience a journey through the medieval and ottoman eras.

We had taken a trip out to the islands, went to Temple of Poseiden for sunset and spent over 10 hours walking the recommended tourist routes around the Acropolis and Athens local to that area. We had our last day open and planned to just take it easy around the hotel Athens Studios, 5 minutes from the Acropolis south entrance and the museum and a VERY super find !!. I do multiday biking tours in Asia my wife does not - so I saw this tour and saw it as an interesting outing for the two of us. I expected it to duplicate the places we'd walked on our earlier tours._br/_ Quite surprised. After a visit to Temple of Zeus and the Olympic stadium which we'd seen the tour went to places we had NOT been so we were rewarded with areas we would have otherwise missed. Also, Solebike tours provided earpiece receivers and a transmitter for the guide so always warned of the next turn and an impending curb or other risk and most important: continuous, thorough narration of the local attractions. On my longer trips on regular bikes in Asia, we only had narration when the tourguide decided to stop.

We booked this trip to get an overview over Athens attractions, and we really did :- We got good guiding, and we felt safe cycling with our nice and informative young guide. He could have had better knowledge of myths, history and politics, but we really enjoyed our time with the guide anyhow.

Fantastic experience. Owner and tour guide shout out to Angelos were very nice and very understanding and interesting. We went for our honeymoon and they were so nice to give us a little gift as well. The bikes are great to use and I encourage this tour for anyone interested in seeing Athens in a fun way.
