See the highlights of Athens by night on this evening Segway tour, led by an expert local guide! On your self-balancing electric Segway, explore buzzing neighborhoods like Plaka and Thiseio, and then head up the brightly lit Acropolis of Athens for panoramic nighttime views of the city. See Classical ruins like the Ancient Agora of Athens and then head back into the city center to see more illuminated attractions such as the iconic Temple of Zeus.
This small-group evening Segway tour is limited to 12 people, ensuring you’ll receive special attention from your guide.
Meet your local guide in the evening, when the Athens’ midday heat has gone and the daytime crowds have dispersed, and start your tour with an orientation session to get familiar with your two-wheeled, electric, self-balancing Segway. Once you feel comfortable, begin gliding along quiet streets to the foothills of the UNESCO-listed Acropolis of Athens – the ancient citadel and archeological site that dominates the city.
On the northeastern slopes of the Acropolis is the neighborhood of Plaka -- the city’s Old Town – that springs to life in the evening with its abundance of trendy bars and cafés. Continue through the bustling quarter of Monastiraki and glide past the ruins of Hadrian’s Library – a Corinthian structure built by the Roman emperor in 132 AD.
Just to the east of Monastiraki is the district of Thiseio, home to the Ancient Agora of Athens; once the heart of the ancient city, it is now a fascinating courtyard ruin. After stopping to take photos of the agora’s illuminated monuments like the Temple of Hephaestous, continue your tour past the New Acropolis Museum -- where countless artifacts from the citadel’s Archaic period are housed.
Weave down the slopes of the Acropolis, stopping briefly on Mars Hill to soak up panoramic nighttime city views, and then rest with a drink (own expense) in a bar in downtown Athens. From here, you’ll finish your evening Segway ride with an hour’s tour of the central city sights. See top Athens attractions beautifully lit up at night, like the Temple of Zeus and the Old Parliament House. Admire the classic buildings of Athens University and pass Panathinaikos Stadium (or Kalimarmaro Stadium) where the first modern Olympic Games were held.
After exploring the highlights of nighttime Athens with your guide, glide back to a location near to the start point where your tour ends.
We loved our Athens Night Segway Tour! Seeing all the amazing sights in Athens at night was breathtaking. Our guide, Kostas was incredible! He was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of great information/history about Athens. No one on the tour had rode a Segway before, but Kostas was able to quickly get us comfortable on the Segways and by the end of the evening, we were Segway riding pros! I would highly recommend this tour.

One of the most amazing segway tours me and my wife have done! We segway a lot and do it as our first activity usually on city breaks to get to know the lay of the land before the footwork. But doing the segway at night in ATHENS, come on! This is an experience on another level. I am so grateful to our host, she was amazing, fortunately because it was an evening tour, it was just me and my wife so we skipped the beginner's lessons and just got on with it, and she took us everywhere! and had time to stop everywhere and take the history in, she was so good at her history that when we stopped for the changing of the guard which is incredible sight and rich history, the soldier on site came over to commend her for giving accurate information unlike other tour guides It was amazing, thank you for a lovely experience.

Our guide was super fantastic. We went all around athens and learned all about the city in three hours. It was easier to learn how to drive the Segway than I thought.

So much fun- just my daughter and I, Costas was so patient and in no time we were zipping around Athens. He gave us a lot of info about sights we had seen earlier in the week and took us to places we would have never known about ourselves. Please give them a try!

What a magical way to see Athens! We covered lots of ground. It was a great overview of some of the sights that we went back to later during the day. We went in November, so it was cool. Remember there is a wind chill when riding the Segway. Hat, scarf and gloves are recommended. The addition of a guide communication system with microphone and headsets for guests would make the experience much more pleasurable because hearing the guide was challenging in some of the noisy, bustling streets of Athens.

Our tour guide Vera was wonderful and we had so much fun riding around the city after dark. It is very easy to learn to ride a Segway and only takes about 5 minutes. A fun way to get around.

This tour was amazing. We only had 24 hours in Athens and this was the best way to explore the sights. We chose a night tour which started before sunset, allowing us to get good photos. Also because it was much cooler we were more relaxed. Athens after sunset is beautiful as well. Great fun!

This was the highlight of our trip! Our tour guide Gina was fantastic and seeing Athens at night was incredible. She was extremely knowledgeable and provided enough information and time at each site. It is hard to believe how much ground we covered in 3 very full hours. As for the segways, they were easy and fun to ride. I would highly recommend this tour.

Love the Segway experience - it's such a great way to tour an area. And the at night tour always is rewarding as it takes us to area and at times we wouldn't otherwise venture. Guide was friendly and informative.

Really enjoyed this tour. It was fun and a great introduction to Athens. Sad to say we only arrived in Athens that afternoon after a 24 hour trip and were really exhausted but we made the most of this tour. Athens was beautiful at night and it was lovely to see the sights, experience the night markets and mingle amongst the many people out wining and dining in beautiful Athens.

The tour was fine but it was spoilt due to a snatch thief experience in the midst of our tour and we had to spend time in the police station after that. The tour company, however, was kind enough to provide us with a compensated Segway Tour on another day. One note to other tourists is to cover the buckle of your waist pouch under your shirt and to be more alert in dark areas. The tour brought us round the city and it was a quick way of getting to know more about getting round.

We had a fun exciting and interesting evening touring Athens on a Segway. The weather was a balmy 20 degrees C when we met up with our young lady Segway instructor and tour guide to get ready for our tour of the city. It did not take long to get the hang of riding, Probably the most interesting part was touring through the crowded shopping streets and the central square. We got a lot of stares as we wove in and out amongst the pedestrians. But it was also very peaceful as we silently cruised down empty streets under the street lights and other dimly lit public areas without anyone around. Very enjoyable evening especially if you want to find out what riding a Segway is like. - Alf and Marie, British Columbia, Canada.

I have been to Athens twice before and studied Classical Studies at Uni. But this trip showed me the city in a new and exciting way. The Segway allowed us to cover group much more quickly than we would have on foot and the guide knew all the back streets and took us to locations that gave us great views of the city. Furthermore she had good knowledge of the culture and history of this magnificent city.
