Athens Over and Under Small Group Walking Tour via Metro

Enjoy a 3-hour guided walking tour from the heart of Athens. Travel on the historic streets and under, utilizing the city's modern Metro, which connects not only the urban web of the city, but its history as well. Travel station to station and emerge to soak in the history of this ancient Grecian city above and underground.

Meet in the morning at the Amalia Hotel terminal near Syntagma Square (Constitution square), the central historical district of the city. Here, you may view the Old Royal Palace, where since 1934 the Greek Parliament is housed. See the famous changing of the guards wearing the traditional costumes, which takes place in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier before taking your first connection via the blue line.

Continue on to the Megaron Mousikis concert hall, the U.S. Embassy, then on to a museum dedicated to everyday life at Egaleo. See one of the main shopping districts in Athens, Monastiraki, the flea market neighborhood in the old town of Athens and enjoy a brief coffee break (at own expense).

The tour will then switch over to the green line and on to Omonoia, Greece's first underground station, before continuing on to the red line and the Panepistimio metro station. See the neo-classical National Library building and end the tour at the Acropolis station at approximately 12:30pm.
