Explore Athens in an unconventional way on this fascinating street art walking tour, led by a local artist. In recent years, Athens has become the site of some of Europe’s best street art, with more than 2,000 viewable works around the city. You’ll see a variety of neighborhoods and learn about each of them through the artwork, with your artist guide as your docent. This is a small-group tour limited to 12 people, so you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions as you go.
Your 3-hour small-group tour kicks off in the morning when you meet your guide in central Athens. The guide is a street artist who will give you the inside scoop on Athens’ famous street art scene. Walk through Athens’ hip neighborhoods while your guide explains the stories behind the colorful murals. Athens’ contemporary street art began in the 1990s and has been on the rise ever since. Saunter through a range of diverse neighborhoods and get to know the culture through the art. By the end of your tour you’ll have a new appreciation for Athens and for street art. We highly recommend this tour. The guide was an artist and was very knowledgeable about the artists and their work and the social and cultural ideas expressed. The walk was at a slow pace with a stop for a coffee break. The tour was easy to book on-line, the start point easy to find and good directions back to the hotel when it was over. Great tour for photographers too!

This was an amazing street tour that took us through numerous neighborhoods of Athens away from the tourist areas. We are a family of 3 and were the only ones on the tour that day. Our tour guide, Nick, was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about the art and the artists and we thoroughly enjoyed it. If you enjoy walking and getting a feel for the real Athens, than this is a tour for you!

Took this tour yesterday and really enjoyed it. Athens has loads of interesting street art, and our guide really helped put it into context. As we traversed neighborhoods, we were able in several cases to view multiple works by a single artist, which helped our guide chart how those specific artists' styles developed with time and experience. All in all, a very cool experience.
