I am absolutely IN LOVE with City Sightseeing Tours! I used them in Athens, Cape Town and Johannesburg, and they did not disappoint! This is absolutely the easiest and cheapest way to see a large expanse of a city in a short period! While you are always able to take the bus which usually runs in 90 minute loops, depending upon the route from any stop, and pay when you get on, it was much easier to have my electronic voucher on hand, which was scanned and a ticket generated which you do have to keep with you whenever you hop on and hop off. We only had a day on a layover from Paris to Cairo to see the city, and the CSB made it so easy to do! We got to see epic sites and spend as much time as we wanted there. Highly recommend this tour and obtaining an advance ticket - which will save you time having to queue in line!

Ride got stopped in a traffic jam due to protests. Didn't get any instruction from driver about what is happenening . Only when we asked, he just said Howe may be stuck for and hour and a half. We got off and walked for 15 min to get to our spot but wasted 30 min waiting in confusion.

Went on the hop on Hop off bus which is usually a good idea but on this occasion got off at the Acropolis, which cost 10 euros to get in and stayed there. Tons to see and great views but we had no time later to take advantage of the bus tour which also has some interesting routes

If you're on a tight schedule and need to see a lot of the city, this tour is very good. It allowed me to get from either end of the city with interesting sights along the way and the hop on - hop off nature meant that you can explore areas of interest at your leisure. The company also runs tours to Piraeus and the Rivera. I also did the Piraeus tour which had some beautiful vistas to see.

We were only on the bus for a short while, as it took forever to get from one stop to the major stop at the Acropolis/Parthenon. By the time we got there, there were huge lines to get into the area. The walking tour around the area outside of the Acropolis was quite interesting. We didn't have time to do the rest of the tour in fear of not returning to our cruise ship in time. If you are on a cruise, look for the tour option that starts at the cruise terminal, we had to find our own way into the city and wasted a lot of time figuring out where to go and how to get there.

We nearly always do the Hop On Hop Off bus trip were ever we go, it is an excellent way of seeing a city. We do the full tour, then stay on and get of at the places of interest. We find it is a cheaper way and better way to fill in a day or two, and feel as if we have seen a lot. Once again Viator thank you.

I was in Athens for the day on a cruise and unfortunately had many time restrictions so this was a great way to tour around the main part of the city. I wore a hat and sat on the top tier which is fully open. I wore the free headset provided which was helpful. This is a very inexpensive way to spend a few hours.

The bus route is fine . We had seen three types of the city tour bus so it was confusing. I would not purchase the hop-on hop-off tickets ahead of the time since we had to go to the first stop to get on the bus using the voucher

Really great way to see all the main sites. Only thing that I didnt realize is that you have to purchase tickets to get into any of the sites such as the Acropolis and museums. Be prepared to purchase additional tickets depending on what you want to see. At the Acropolis stop, there are ticket sales available for a package of sites but doesnt include all the sites.

The HOHO is a convenient way to see Athens. My only criticism is that I had difficulty finding them in Smytagna Square. Look for a bus stop sign on the curb just up the street from McDonalds.

If you have any time in Athens, this is a must!!! Things are spread out a lot and there's a lot to see. This was not only convenient, but informative as they provide earplugs to listen to the highlights as you rode around. The second level of the buses allowed us to see things better over crowds, trees, walls, etc. This pass was well worth the money.

On our first day in Athens we took the Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour so as to orient ourselves to this beautiful city. The bus was clean and the weather was good enough to sit on the top deck. We felt that the stops selected by the tour were an excellent representation of Ancient Athens and served to wet our appetites for several other tours of the city. Pretty standard hop on hop off compared to other cities. Athens is a lot smaller that we had though so most of the stops dont need the bus you can just walk.

I only had the afternoon in Athens so got on this tour simply to get to the Acropolis and Museum which were great. Found the next stop OK and continued with the tour to see the city sights to the end with no problems. If I had more time I would have used the option of the 2 day hop on/hop off as you definitely need the time to spend at the locations if you intend to get off at every stop. Would recommend the tour and the company. Thanks. Barb

A great way to get an overview of the city once you arrive. Being able to get off and then back on saves money and time over using taxis everywhere. You don't need to start at stop 1, just start at the closest on to where you are staying!

We purchased the 1 day pass. We thoroughly enjoyed our hop on-and-off bus ride. We sat on the upper deck for the best views, selected English from the language choices, used the ear buds to hear all the history and information of the sights we saw along the ride and it was great. It allowed us to acclimate ourselves to the Athens area, making note of areas and sights we would later end up going back to. It was educational and an excellent way to get around the city for the entire day.

Great tour. I would always recommend a hop-on/hop-off bus in any city. Just make sure you know what time attractions are closing and the last bus it. We had a very short layover in Athens, and ended up JUST missing the Parthenon closing time...and also the last bus: our own, fault, of course.

I took the Athens only red line since I only had one day to visit. I enjoyed it a lot and the driver's were really helpful in advising how I use my time.
