Full Day Athens Wine Tour and Cape Sounio with Lunch

What a better way to spend your day rather than taking an exciting getaway from Athens city center and exploring one of Attica’s best wineries? Join us on a daily wine tour and let us guide you through the entire process of wine production and give you a good insight in the 4,000 years history of wine making in Greece!

This tour will take you on an unforgettable experience in the beautiful Attica South coastal zone! After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel at about 9:30 am and we will drive along the main coastal avenue of Athens heading to Anavyssos. On our way, you can admire the stunning views of the deep blue crystal clear waters of the Saronic Gulf and the nice Athenian beaches.

In less than 1 hour, we will get to one of the most renowned wineries of Attica region, where you can explore the magical world of wines! We will first walk through the vineyards, while our local guide will give us more information regarding the different grape varieties. Afterwards we will visit the winery, where we will explain to you the wine – making method from the processing of the must to the wine production and bottling. You will then taste 3 to 5 different varieties of fine Greek wines, accompanied by bread sticks and cheese.

Around noon, you can enjoy your lunch in one of the traditional seaside tavernas in Palea Fokea, before we head to the dramatic. Cape Sounio, located at the southernmost tip of Attica peninsula. This is one of the best places to visit on a half-day excursion from Athens. Standing atop sheer cliffs overlooking the Aegean Sea, the Temple of Poseidon is one of the most important archaeological sites in Attica, having also served as a landmark for sailors from ancient times until today.  Walk around the archaeological site and feel the energy that emanates from it.

Do not forget your cameras, as every single photo taken there could be a post card. Depending on the season, you can enjoy a swim in the clear fresh waters of the Aegean sea before being driven back to your hotel or apartment in Athens after a beautiful and rewarding day.
