From one awe inspiring site to the next is how your day starts, unfolds & just keeps going! From pick up at your hotel we head to the entrance to the Acropolis passing by the Roman theatre of Herodion, still hosting modern performances. Ascending the ancient stone steps you will reach the pinnacle of Greek antiquity, the Parthenon and Erechtheion with plenty of time to take photos, and contemplate this amazing site learning about its turbulent history and the mythological struggles of the gods over the name of the city before descending through the olive trees towards the Roman Agora for an insight into the important Roman period of the city. Continuing towards Hadrian's library & the vibrant Monistaraki square we will explore the famous ‘Plaka’ market with its bustle & colour, and find the near complete ancient Temple of Hephaestus and the extensive site of the Ancient ‘Agora which was the hub and focus of ancient Athenian life

A perfect place to choose from one of the many tavernas & cafes along the boutique Adriano street with wonderful views to the ancient market site, we then pause for a relaxing lunch discussing how the ancient Greeks would have gathered to trade, exchange news, worship & carry out the street politics of the day at the site. Refreshed, we drive out of the city for around 50 minutes, enjoying the Aegean coast line and exploring the beautiful area of Sounion and the breathtaking Temple of Poseidon perched on the shear cliff edge with its open sea views. We learn how the Aegean got its name, the importance of the Temple in Greek history and of previous visitors from Theseus to Lord Byron during his own Grand Tour.

I had a great experience with this tour company and our driver, Val! He had a plethora of knowledge about his city and every single stop we went to. He was so accommodating and patient and always checked with us if we wanted to do anything outside of what he had planned for us. He was great with the timing and knew when to avoid the big crowds. We literally got to see everything we wanted to and more in one day! He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The only downside is that he was not able to go in to the different sites with us and was only able to wait outside because he was not an official tour guide. So we had to walk around the acropolis and temple of poseidon ourselves. No big deal though. I still rate this tour 5 stars and would recommend everybody to go with this company! It was one of the highlights of our trip!

This tour has honestly put me off Viator - usually i can trust them. But for USD500, this was an experienc worth 50. I could have gotten the same experience buying a 30 all day pass for two which i had to anyway on top of this, and paying 1-2 in uber visiting each site by myself. Firstly, the guide can't come with you to any of the places, becauase of some restriction with Athens, but the worst was more than half my basic questions couldn't be answered. Any question I had was 100 years on and off. More than half my question was.. i don't know. The tour guide was more interested in reading her book than in ensuring we had a good time - you guys go.. and i'll meet you back here.. i have to read my book? What? I've paid for tours at less than half price with proper archeologists in more expensive countries and they know a lot. The tour guide was nice, but the tour company should not have put this person in charge. I just finished a walking tour in venice, and a Barcelona highlights tour at less than 1/3 the price of this tour and it was informative, full of history, full of details, which helped me understand the evolution of the people and culture. Athens has such a rich cultural history.. to not know basic things was really disappointing.

We saw all of the top sights in Athens and the Temple of Poseidon which has amazing views. The temple is about 1.5 hours out of Athens but it is a nice drive along the coast and there are some great places to stop for lunch. Our tour guide was very informative and friendly. I definitely recommend this tour if you have limited time in Athens.

This walking tour was amazing. Melina, our tour guide was knowledgeable, funny and oh so pleasant! Be forewarned that this tour involves a lot of walking - but so many awesome sights to be seen in this lovely city!

Incredible day spent with Eugenia. We were a group of 4 and instantly knew we had made a great decision to book this tour. We saw it all, learned the History behind every ruin, war and etc. She took us to a great neighborhood restaurant, not on the tourist path and the food was divine. She also pointed us in the right direction for other foods we wanted to have. The drive to the Temple of Poseidon was long but very good time to discuss life in Greece and The USA. I can not say enough how blessed we were to meet Eugenia.

We had a wonderful day with our guide Evgenia! She guided us knowledgeably and professionally through the main historical sites in Athens, including the Acropolis, Theater of Dionysus, Hadrian's Gate, the Temple of Zeus, and both the Roman and Ancient agoras. What an amazing day with Melina our tour guide who was exceptionally well educated, full of knowledge and very informative and spoke very good English making this tour a memorable day. We Walked for the first half of the tour and in this time Melina showed and gave us informative knowledge about the amazing historical sites. The second part of the tour was to Cape Sounion and The Temple of Poseidon. Melina Made this trip fantastic as she was very informative and answered any questions we asked her. This is a great tour! Konstantinos is a great guide and very knowledgeable about Greece. He was also our driver and planned out a fantastic full day tour. There is a lot of walking so be prepared for that within Athens but you get to see all the key sites and it is really fantastic. The drive up to Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon is magnificent. Make sure you try and request Konstantinos, he really is amazing.

Our private tour of six, was picked up in 2 taxi's from shop dock, and driven through hectic traffic to Acropolis area, where they ensured we met our most informative and pleasant guide, Betty. Additional cost for Acropolis and Parthenon and Temple of Hephaestus The tour guide purchased our tickets, and we did not have to wait in line. It was nice getting a personal tour, as opposed to tours of 25 people, with Betty giving us lots of the history of Athens from memory, not notes, and making it most interesting and easy to follow, with our group stopping prior to points of interest for more info. She also had a book with her of pictures of what the buildings used to look like. There was a lot of walking, and the marble steps were slick and steep in places, so tennis shoes or hiking boots would be recommended. This was quite a congested area with lots of people, and having our guide was most helpful. After a tour of the ancient buildings, we toured the market place area, and those ruins, also given info of what happened here years ago. We ate at a nice restaurant in the Plaka market area, and our tour then proceeded with Konstantino as driver, and guide for the 50 minute drive along the Agean coast, and Sounion area. We did see the Temple of Poseidon perched on seaside cliff, that was beautiful. Additional cost The guide delivered us back to our ship port. It was a most informative and easy way to see everything when time was limited.

Confirm your booking -viator didn and #39;t tell the company we had booked, we almost missed out!!!. Our guide Konstantinos was fantastic, so friendly and informative the whole day. I would have thought for the price we paid that he would have come into the ruins with us to explain everything- Disappointing

Enjoyed our tour with David. Saw a lot of Athens during the walking portion. Although Cape Sounion is lovely, it is a longish drive there and back after a long morning of walking. David is knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend a day with.

The tour was quite good and comprehensivevery efficient use of the limited time that our family had in Athens,_br/_ We got to visit all the important and must see sights,_br/_ David our guide was very nice and helpful and we really appreciated the privacy part of the tour instead of going as a part of a larger group similar to all the other tours that we have seen around because we could cater/customize based on our requirements breaks, coffee time, lunch, 3 year old demanding son : etc,_br/_ Highly recommended if you have limited time, appreciate your privacy and/or need a child/family friendly tour/guide.
