The tour starts from your hotel, airbnb apartment or cruise ship terminal. Cruise to the center of Athens and Syntagma Square, where you will see the Greek Parliament building and the most famous hotels in the Athens city that enclose the square.

After, pass from Filellinon Street to see the Russian and Anglican churches. Next, drive to the Temple of Zeus, which is a visited open-air museum, part of unification of the archaeological sites of Athens. After the spectacular Temple of Zeus and its columns, stop for photos at the Panathenaic Stadium, also known as the Kallimarmaro, which hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896.

Head to Herodes Atticus Street where the office house of the Prime Minister of Greece and the office house of the President of the Republic is located. Visit the world's first building built exclusively for the Olympics Games, the Zappeion Megaron Hall, now used as a conference center. Next stop is the Tomb of Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament of Greece, where hyou'll watch the changing of the guards

Follow Panepistimiou Street and past the Monetary Museum of Athens, the buildings of the Academy, University and National Library, known as the "Trilogy of Athens". The route continues to Stadiou Street and the neoclassical Old Parliament building, now the National Historical Museum of Greece. In front of the building stands the bronze statue of General Theodoros Kolokotronis, one of the leaders at the Greek revolution of 1821.

Afterward, go to the Acropolis and the Temple of Parthenon. There, you will have the unique opportunity to admire the splendid monument of the Athenian state of the Parthenon Temple, built in the mid-fifth century BC to honor the goddess of Athens. Visit the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the Theatre of Dionysus Elefthereus. Afterward, you will have a break for a coffee or lunch in The famous Plaka District, where your driver will wait for an hour. After that, head back to your hotel or cruise ship.

The driver was indeed a well-informed driver, not a tour guide. So prompting and encouragement are requjired to get the most from her. She adjusted the tour very well to my limited mobility, and made this a most worthwhile four plus hours.

The driver, Bobis, was excellent. He showed us several spots of interest and drove us to places we suggested as well and was available to extend our time at the prearranged rate. There were 6 of us and we were very comfortable in the van. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone interested in seeing Athens for the first time.

This was perfect for us and my husband and I highly recommend this tour! We were fortunate enough to get Serafim, the manager, as our driver/guide. He picked us up at our hotel with a warm smile, a can-do attitude and right on time. Basically, there was nothing he wouldn't do for us! We explained that this was our first visit to Athens and we were leaving on a cruise the next day. We also discussed some health issues that would cause limitations on what we could do. He didn't miss a beat. Had suggestions, ideas and gave us options. Serafim is extremely knowledgeable and happy to share his country's history with visitors...but in a fun and light way. We had an exceptional experience and saw things and areas only the locals would know. We are new to Viator.com but have had great experiences, highly personalized and designed with and for us. We had a great day. Our driver was very knowledgeable about Athens and took us to some very scenic views and important sites in the city.. The Acropolis was worth the trip by itself! A lot of climbing but it was worth it. We were not impressed with the museum, but didn't spend a lot of time there. Our driver recommended a great place for lunch and went out of her way to extend our tour 2 hours. We would highly recommend this tour.

This was a very worthwhile tour and a great way to see many of the sights. Our guide Spiros was in touch early in the day to checkout our arrangements and then arrived on schedule with a car provisioned with water and cake. He gave us lots of information between the places of interest and then plenty of time to view them. As my friend was limited in walking it was an ideal way to get between the places of interest. Spiros also gave us lots of suggestions for the following day of our stay. A very pleasant way to see a fantastic city and I would highly recommend this tour.

Great way to see all of the sites and reach a few that would be difficult to approach solo. Keep in mind that taxi drivers are not certified tour guides so they are not able to accompany you into the locations to add commentary, but our driver filled us in between stops. Also gave great advice on purchasing a ticket for multi attractions at one of the places with the smallest lines.

This was the perfect introduction to the city. We chose a pickup time a couple hours after our hotel arrival, which timed our visit to late afternoon-evening. Our guide took us on a quick drive around the major city highlights so we knew where we were and how to plan for what to go back to see the next day, took us up to the highest hill for a great birds-eye view, then took us to spend some time in the Acropolis Museum which gave us excellent access and finally to spend about 90 minutes at the Acropolis with the late evening sun at the perfect angle for photos. At the end, he was happy to drop us off at our dinner restaurant, even walking us to the exact spot to be sure we were settled in for dinner with no issues. He was great: answered all our questions, engaged with every member of my party of seven down to the youngest, and truly helped us feel warmly welcomed in this bustling city. Definitely a pleasure, and we highly recommend.

For anyonetraveling toAthens, Greece and would like to have the best experience in visiting the most interesting and historical sites, there is no one better to be your tour guide than Spiros Savvas. Spiros is so knowledgeable and friendly. He made our day in Athens an absolute joy. Spiros knew the best order for us to see the various sites in the city while saving us time waiting in lines. At the end of the day, Spiros took us to his home town outside of Athens and brought us to an excellent Greek restaurant. He picked out a variety of incredible dishes and we sat around our table on the rooftop deck of this beautiful open air restaurant looking out to the sea and laughed and told stories. It was a day our family will always remember.

We arrived by cruise ship on Easter Sunday. All the museums and site were supposed to be closed for the day. Nevertheless our Taxi tour guide took us to lots of interesting places to get fabulous views of the city. We had unfettered access to the center of town and wonder hillside locations. No, we didn't go into museums, but we felt like we had seen Athens up-close like we never would have gotten to do on a busy traffic day. We saw the Acropolis both near and from vista points the temple of Zeus the old Greek agora and the Roman one the university buildings and even saw the new opera house and library, which were OPEN on Easter Our driver was friendly, loquacious, and knowledgable. Altogether a lemon day turned into lemonade by our tour driver. Would do this again!

Amazing tour! The guide/taxi driver was very informative in everything with perfect English and very welcoming! We truly enjoyed the half day tour and it proved to save us so much time in our few days in Athens. In just a couple of hours you hit all the main spots.
