At Syntagma square, you can admire the Hellenic Parliament with its impressive guard line. Feel free to explore the Panathenaic stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were held. Roam around or the Temple of Zeus or the picturesque area of Monastiraki and its Flea Market.

Blue Line - Piraeus:
If you are fresh from the cruise, you can start your journey at either of the cruise Terminals in the Port of Piraeus, just a stone's throw away from the cruise ship. This was great, two days for the price of one. Went on all 3 routes. Used it as public transport on the 2nd day to go to the beach and market.

Fantastic staff and the buses covered the main attractions in Athens. We had 2 days but spaced - they noted our ticket and we were able to use the buses on two separate dates. All of the staff we met were friendly and went out of there way to be helpful. Buses not overly crowded but we were not there in the peak season. Great service at a very good price.

Good trip enjoyed it. If you're traveling by cruise liner you'll find the hop on hop off outside the port 5min walk behind the parked coaches. Than you will have a half hour travel to the centre don't worry you will arrive exactly underneath acropolis. Then you can decide to go around Athens.

I've enjoyed the Hop on Hop off in several cities and love to hear all about what I'm seeing! The Athens Hop on Hop off was no exception. We did the full round and then decided where we'd get off next. One issue I had was that the rich history of Athens was a little short on tidbits on the audio. All the other cities I've traveled to, had much more information and history to offer. A lot of quiet time in Athens. I'm pretty sure there's so much more to add to the Athens audio. That being said, I always seek out Hop on Hop off wherever I travel. A great way to get your bearings and learn more about the city.

Poor sound system in buses.

Although I love doing hop on/off tours, this one I found confusing. They have different lines you can take. My jack didn't work so I couldn't hear the guide of the city. And in Athens the landmarks are a distance apart. It wasn't bad, just not what we are used to. It is still an excellent way to see the city, and very cost effective.

Review by:   david.whitehead7,    September 2017 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
We picked up the bus from the Cruise port which was fine. This took us to the Acropolis where we had to get off to change to another bus to continue the tour around Athens, but the queues were long and the buses very busy. 2 of our party had to wait 45 minutes for a bus to continue their tour of the city whilst the rest of our party looked around the Acropolis. We then picked up the bus from another stop, but had to sit downstairs which wasn't great! When we got back to stop A5 to pick up the bus to go back to the cruise port, luckily enough they had put a queuing system in place to deal with the volumes, so we didn't have to wait too long to board!

Find another bus tour! This was terrible. AC was useless, we had to switch busses randomly and sat in the new one for 15-20 minutes waiting, the lines each bus travels is unclear, and the time schedule is not followed. We ended up just walking around ourselves. Thumbs down in a major way. :(

When we went to board the bus the operators wanted to charge us extra even though we had paid for our ticket here on viator._br/_ We said no we had already paid. Unfortunately the day we went the buses were unable to do the full bus journey as the Greeks decided to hold protests that day!

We were in Athens for only three days, so we booked the 3-days ticket that costs 20eu per person. We couldn't found a better way to see everything and at the same time being in a clean, air-conditioned and double deck bus. The audio guide was good and we loved the tour at the riviera. The drivers were very careful that's not a common space in Athens and they were answering all of our questions about the timetable and the routes. I have to mention also the people that are working as sellers for the company. They are always with a smile on their face and they were trying to help us, and the other clients as we saw, finding the best solution according to their needs. Thank you all in the blue bus company for your excellent service and the friendly environment that you have created those days!

The ideal way to get to see all of the Greek capital's major sights. The blue bus tour is cheap and delivered by very helpful people that will even take you to a great walking tour for sightseeing and shopping. On top of that, there is free Wi-Fi on every bus, audio in lots of languages and a cute little tour of Piraeus by the blue fun train. Definitely a great choice

During my visit in Athens i used the blue bus company to have an overview of the main city sights. In the city center they have 15 different stops close to all the main monuments like Akropolis the Parliament building. I was satisfied with the frequency of the buses, i didint wait more than 20 min at the stops.Friendly staff. After sightseeing take advantage of their new line going to the coastline of Athens included in the price to have a look at the meditaranean sea or have lunch at the little marinas.I really enjoyed all.

We hopped on the Sights of Athens blue bus open top bus tour. It was much more than we expected and we were amazed. For only 15 euros per person, you hop on and off at any stop, the employees are really friendly and eager to help and the Wi-Fi is free and open for the passengers. We highly recommend the walking tour. The guides are there to take you through the city's most famous and picturesque spots. The tour is suitable for couples, families, friends and everyone who wants to know the best of Athens.

The Sights of Athens is the cheapest tour of the city. On top of that, there is free Wi-Fi, commentary in many languages and a very kind crew._br/_ For no extra charge, you can also take the train that does a tour of Piraeus. We also enjoyed the walking tour, especially at Plaka and Monastiraki.

We typically LOVE doing Hop on Hop off tours both while cruising and here in the US. It's a great way to see a city so we were excited to have this option in Athens. At the port we see 3 buses -- a blue, a yellow and red. I walk up to some of the people selling tickets as it's not clear on my Viator print out which one I'm with. It turns out it's the blue bus -- Sights of Athens. We waited on the bus for about 50 minutes before we finally left. Athens is a hike from the port. Eventually we got to the Parthenon and we got off. There are two bus routes with the blue bus so one takes you from the Parthenon back to the port and the other around downtown Athens. We hopped on the one after a 20 minute wait to go around downtown Athens. We wanted to go to the market area. After some very slow traffic the bus driver told us that if we wanted to go to the market, hop off and walk straight down this street for 10 blocks instead of staying on the bus and getting off at the market stop. My husband is disabled so this was not a good suggestion for us but we wanted to see the city and we had limited time so we did it. By the time we got to the market area it was getting later so we had to hop a bus back to the Parthenon to get back to the ship because we didn't want to be in Athens after dark. We waited nearly an hour. There was a blue bus sitting there the whole time but they wouldn't take us back. Multiple red and yellow buses came and went. Eventually we became concerned because the blue buses had been so unreliable that we gave up and paid 10 euro each and took the red bus back. I wouldn't recommend this tour company at all.

Experience marred by pickpocket incident in street. Several venues missed because of need to return to cruise ship and safety - need to cancel credit card etc._br/_ However, a brilliant concept and well received by all clients. I do think it would be helpful to advise clients to get to popular venues g. Acropolis early to avoid horrendous crowds.

Waited 50 minutes under the sun it was like 100 degrees for the bus and finally gave up. Basically never used the tickets and was waste of money.

We really enjoyed using the 'blue bus' while we were in Athens. I had bought tickets online from Viatour in CAD and received voucher which I redeemed at bus stop conveniently located near cruise ship port of Piraeus. They offer a 1-day 24 hour 2 days package. You will be given earphones to listen to an audio guide that is available in about 10 languages. And for your convenience there is also free Wifi on board. The first day we did the entire loop into and around Athens and went to the Acropolis. The second day visited several sights and we also took advantage of 2 free one-hour walking tours that the bus company offers. Well worth it ! Demitri was our guide and he was wonderful showing us around the Plaka and Psirri districts.
