Cruise along the stunning coast line of Attica on a round-trip private tour from Athens to the beautiful temple of Poseidon at Sounio. Cape Sounio is a promontory located 69 kilometer (43 mi) south-southeast of Athens, the second most visited ancient ruin site after Acropolis.
The private round-trip tour starts with a pickup in our air-conditioned mini-van from your hotel in Athens to Lagonissi, where you will board the rib boat. While your captain sails the boat passing the stunning coast line of Attica, sit back and relax or simply soak up the sun.
Our boat is a 32f/10m RIB with a 300HP engine. It is fast (max speed 41 knots), and the safest boat someone can use. There is always a 2-man crew on-board that are diving and first-aid instructors. A 6 square meter tent will provide enough shade, and there are enough couches to fit comfortably the passengers.
We head to Arsida and Pothitos, Fleves or Patroklos - small uninhabited islands with remote sandy beaches, where you can swim, snorkel, or just relax. At Arsida Island you will have the chance to snorkel and swim in its cave. We will show you the magnificent sea-world of Athens, one of the safest seas in the world without dangerous marine life and strong currents. A dive or a "discover scuba" program can be also arranged if you wish, at an extra cost. Complimentary snacks, beverages, and fresh fruit are offered on-board.
After enjoying the sun and the sea, we board the rib and head to Sounio and the Poseidon temple. There you will explore the ruins and admire the stunning views. Cape Sounio is noted as the site of the ruins of the ancient temple of Poseidon, the god of the sea in classical mythology. The remains are perched on the headland, surrounded on three sides by the sea. The ruins bear the deeply engraved name of English Romantic poet Lord Byron. After the visit to the temple, we head back to your hotel with the mini-van, with your mind and heart full of unforgettable moments!
We booked this tour on our first full day in Greece, and it was the perfect way to settle into our vacation! George met our group, which included five children ages 4-15, at the hotel. He made it very clear from the start that it was our day, and activities could be tailored to our preferences. The group opted for more swimming and snorkeling time, so we spent the day anchored at various locations doing just that. George was the perfect guide. He was warm and informative, and open to answering questions about our surroundings and about his country. He even got in the water with an underwater camera to shoot pictures and video of the kids, which he emailed to us later. It was easy to see that he loves spending his days on the water! It was also obvious during our time together that safety was George's primary concern, and both he and the skipper were always aware of the wind and on a few occasions the distant sound of thunder. After a delicious late afternoon snack of fruit and pastries, we docked the boat and took a scenic drive down the coast to the cape, to visit the temple at sunset. The kids really enjoyed this part of the trip as well. The day was definitely one of our most memorable of the entire trip. It was fun and informative and relaxing, but above all, we really felt that we lived and experienced the best of what Greece has to offer. Would highly recommend!

This was a GREAT cruise!! George was such a fantastic host. He was warm and friendly, prompt and full of information on our drive to the RIB cruise. George brought his little son with him which was fantastic as I was a mom travelling with her 2 sons 19 and 12. The language barrier didn't matter as the kids all played and jumped hundreds of times from the boat. Beautiful stops to swim, snorkel and to have fun. George made it very clear that the boat was ours and we got to call the shots of where to go and when to go. He also brought along a wonderful melon we all shared. After a couple of hours, we were ready to head back and do the Poseidon Temple which we chose to do by car. Beautiful. George also recommended a restaurant and dropped us there for dinner. They had us a wonderful table with fantastic food even though we looked exactly like we were swimming all day and coming off a boat. All in all, the tour, George and everything about this day trip was super special. We as a family enjoy a little privacy and not having to make memories with hordes of tourists. This is exactly what we wanted and how we wanted to spend the day. Some final thoughts, the skipper was professional and safe George's driving was safe. Eat a heavy lunch before as you will only be snacking during the boat tour or bring snacks. Bring a change of clothes as the tour is like 6-7 hours and if you take George up on his recommendation for dinner you won't be sorry! We had such a great time with George and Nikos! We snorkeles in an amazing cavern and sailed to interesting rock beaches. We all had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the trip. They were very accommodating and friendly. It was the favorite activity for most in our group for our week in Athens!

On the day we took this tour, Athens had record breaking heat: High hovering around 115 degrees F. Despite the brutal heat, our driver picked us up on time. The van air conditioning worked great. We were escorted to the office where paper work was completed and were were briefed on our excursion. Also, necessary gear for snorkeling was provided. We then traveled to the place where we would board our boat. Evan accompanied us on this drive, telling us lots of interesting things about sites we saw along the way. We then boarded the boat, where Nicholas was waiting for us. After the boat was loaded with gear and refreshments, we took an amazing tour on the water. Thankfully, it was much cooler on the water! Both Evan and Nicolaus were great tour guides, showing many interesting sites and sharing a bit of history about the areas we visited. We stopped as many times as we wanted to swim and snorkel. We had great refreshments when we wanted. One of our stops included a snorkel into a cavern. Evan accompanied us and pointed out interesting things in the cavern. This was a wonderful way to spend a hot afternoon. The boat was well equipped and had plenty of shade. We saw lots of interesting things from a different perspective-a view of the coast and the Poseidon Temple from the water. Evan and Nicolaus went out of their way to make sure we all had a great time. And we did! After disembarking the boat, Evan drove us the the Temple of Poseidon. The sun was setting and the views were magnificent. Evan welcomed us to take as much time as we wanted there, before getting back into our van and the drive back to Athens. This tour was a highlight of our trip. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a taste of Greece from the perspective of the Mediterranean Sea. Both Evan and Nicolaus are certified dive instructors. We always felt very safe, both on the boat and in the water. Be prepared: It is quite a distance from the Temple of Poseidon to Athens City Center. But it is well worth the extra driving time.

We've booked this trip for a family of 6, including 2 kids aged 4 and 6, and a 70 years old granny. All enjoyed this excellent trip. The cruise was fast and smooth, and everything was timed perfectly. This was most certainly the best experience of our trip to Greece. I was traveling with a group of 6 friends and this was the highlight of our trip. George and Nick are the best guides I've ever come across. They go above and beyond to make sure you're having a good time and genuinely care that you do. Everything was as described. The snacks, fruits and bakery items, were absolutely delicious. The rib boat was comfortable and quick in getting us from location to location. We were able to go to four different spots to snorkel and swim, all were fantastic. The entire time, George and Nick treated the group like we were friends and made us feel so at home. At the end, we also wanted to have time to eat a meal and George recommended and joined us at a fantastic restaurant right below the cliff with the Temple of Poseidon. It was a perfect day. I am really eager to go back to Athens and spend another day on the water with George and Nick.
