Total brazen ripoff as we prepaid 67.42 for our transfer by private mini bus see above from our Hotel to_br/_ Piraeus Port for two passengers with bags, when we actually were provided with a yellow taxi, of which there is_br/_ an abundance around Syntagma Square, and who charge Euros 14 16 for the same trip, as we had discovered,_br/_ by chance, the day before departure, when dining next to the Port, in Microlimonou, next to Piraeus !

Our guide Despina was fantastic! We learned about the history of Greece and how different cultural influences are present in Greek cuisine. We got to see parts of Athens that were off the tourist path which was great! We ate so much food! If you get Despina for a guide, you are in for a treat!

Great experience. We waited a little while 10-15 minutes at the airport because our driver was stuck in traffic but there was a representative there to explain the situation. This was not a problem at all for us. The car was clean and the driver very friendly and apologetic though he didn't need to be about being a little late. We were picked up at our Hilton Acropolis Hotel in a standard taxi. The driver was rude and talked on his phone the entire trip. Most of the cabs waiting outside the Hotel for standard cab service were nicer vehicles. This was not the service that we expected from Viator for the price and will probably not use it in the future.

We used Viator for an early morning transfer from the Electra Palace Hotel in Athens to Piraeus where we boarded a Blue Star ferry to Naxos. Everything worked perfectly well and aside from some confusion regarding the number to call to confirm the pick up time, our driver arrived at the Electra Place as scheduled. However, there is one caveat. If you don't have a cell phone with a global calling plan and there's a change in your schedule, you may have a problem. You pay Viator in advance for this service and then all future communication is via e-mail. The service is excellent but personally I'd much prefer booking my tours and transfers through the hotel where I'm staying. That way, if there's a problem, you don't have to call an outside agency, which may or may not answer the phone to resolve the issue.

Two taxis showed up for the four of us. Could have just hired taxis at the hotel for less. Was difficult to confirm our booking with the agency - no matter what time I called the recording said we had called outside of normal working hours. Eventually I left a message and got a call back within about 1/2 hour. They seemed confused and had trouble locating my booking - said they were having "systems trouble". Anyway, the cars eventually arrived on time and the rides went smoothly.
