During the day, the spirit of ancient Athens is everywhere, but the true magic of the city is best experienced at night. On this Athens tour, we’ll walk along ancient streets and laneways, follow in the footsteps of famous personalities, hear secret stories of celebrity visitors, learn about local myths and traditions, spook ourselves with ghost stories, and dig into the city’s music scene.
We’ll visit three themed bars located in unique secret gardens and on rooftops with splendid vistas, hanging out with crowds of cheerful locals enjoying a night out in their home. You’ll get to check out corners of the city that only locals visit, and uncover some of the city’s coolest spots. You’ll also get to participate in some local drinking traditions, sampling ouzo and raki paired with mouthwatering finger foods.
From our last stop, you'll have the option to head off on your own or, if you want to keep the night going with your new Urban Adventures friends, join us for free VIP entry to a bouzoukia venue featuring urban folk music — a true local experience for night owls with itchy feet! It was eye-opening visiting the nightlife around the city. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know how we would find them lol. Disclaimer: we were 2 hours late for this tour because we were finishing up a cooking class. Each space was different and unique. Noel and Booze was beautiful, almost didn’t look like a bar. Six dogs had a hidden yard, reminded me of wynwood area in Miami. Then we did a rooftop with great views of Acropolis. I do wish that there was a bit more tasting of Alcoholic spirits/ drinks. I feel that at least a drink in each bar would have been great or at minimum the option to purchase your own drink. (I don’t think the price of the tour matches the actual amount of tasting during the experience) Our guide, Evelina, was fantastic. Her personality is perfect for showing people around. She was engaging, personable, and a lot of fun. We were out till 2am, ending with none other than Souvlaki. Two words= AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! (My first of many) It was such a great experience and a must do to get to know some awesome bars to go to while in Athens.

This was a disaster. Do not book this. It is totally misrepresented. We only stayed for the first two bars which was 1 ½ hours. By this time we had been in the worst looking neighborhood full of graffiti and gritty. By 10 pm we had only had one glass of bad wine, a glass of some kind of fruit juice, and some nasty bar nuts. The guide tried hard but it was a total disappointment. It was awful.

I have visited Athens several times before this tour but our energetic and lovely guide Evelina took us to interesting places I have never been. I would recommend this tour to everyone who is interested in going to restaurants and bars where locals are crowding.

Theo was such a lovely and engaging host. He was very prompt at meeting us at the start of the tour, and was exceptionally friendly and engaging. We visited some lovely places to eat, with the ice cream being my favourite- that and the gyros which were so delicious we came back to the restaurant 3 times!

We highly recommend this tour! Theo was a great host and provided us with a wealth of knowledge on the history of Athens as well as local information. We took this tour on our first day in the city and it was the best time to do it! You will learn the layout of the central area of Athens, and will be comfortable exploring the city on your own after discovering the main sites with Theo. The tour provides just the right mix of drinks, food, information and fun. Take this tour if you have the opportunity!

Well worth it. Georgia had an intense passion for her job. She was really into everything and was all smiles. I loved how she explained everything even the simple foods like the morning snack bread Greeks eat. We tried everything from bread, to desserts, to a variety of teas, a stroll through the fish market, the fruit market, and the famous soulvaki Gyro as we call it in America. There were many times when vendors would flirt with her, but she always handled it professionally. Each taste of food was accompanied with a short history lesson concerning the food and part of the culture. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire thing and consider it the highlight of my stay in Athens. I'm a pretty big eater, but by the end of the tour I was full.

Our guide, Theo was knowledgable and gave us lots of information about the city. The food and drinks were plentiful and good. The highlight of the evening was our desert stop for ice cream and pasteries, where just a short distance away there was Greek music and young people doing traditional dances in the street.

This was a great tour. First time I have ever done anything like this. I will for sure do this in other cities. A great way to be acclimated to a city. We saw lots of historical parts of town, we visited some really cool bars and had some really great food. We learned lots about what a Athenian is today. This tour is very is worth it!!! We loved Theo as our guide. He took us to some wonderful spots to try local food and a fun spot to end the tour. Just note that you should have a heavy snack before as we didn't have food until after 9pm if you think you'll be hungry. We were able to see parts of the city we would have never found on our own and Theo was awesome!

Arrived in Athens that evening and went immediately on this fantastic tour. What a great introduction to the beautiful city of Athens. Theo, our guide, was personably, knowledgeable and took us to trendy hot spots in the city that we would never have found if on our own. We were warm and stuffed on tasty Greek drinks and food. Our host Theo was enthusiastic and fun...my daughter and I went on the tour with 6 others. A mixed crowd of older and younger. We visited a ton of places - advice: wear comfortable shoes - this is a LOT of walking! Saw a lot of really neat places - was a little awkward just walking into some places just to see them...but you really can't drink at every place or you'd never make it. We had shots at two or three places, a plate of appetizers at a little streetside diner great bread, feta, olives, rice in grape leavesdolmathakia?,stuffed mini peppers, great souvlaki later, finished at a lovely rooftop bar with a glass of wine or beer. Theo was full of information and took us down streets we never would have explored on our own - which was fun to do as a group - and the places were really fun to find. Athens is FULL of places to eat and drink - this tour gave us a great starting point and orientation to the area that is just outside the plaka.

This is an amazing walking experience through Athens. Our local walking guide was Thodoris, a young and passionate Athens local. Thodoris is very knowledgeable on all things Athens related and will give you a detailed perspective from a local point of view. He will also take you to the best places in Athens that only a local would know about and their best kept secrets. You will take a step back in time as Thodoris explains the different periods in Athen's history, while keeping yourself hydrated Athen's style. The meeting location was easy to find. If you are looking at doing something a bit different to do on your next visit to Athens then I really recommend that you put on your best walking shoes on and hit the pavement with Thodoris.

Directions of meeting place with guide could be improved. Especially for those not familiar with area. Guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. _br/_ Actual tour didn't meet expectations. We were under the impression we'd spend time in several bars with possible local music. We mostly walked the area.

Great tour and introduction of the city's nightlife and some Athenian history. We tried tasty mezze, great pita wrap and some other traditional nibbles, all followed by traditional drinks too. The last tavern we visited was really great, enjoyed some good house white wine and live Greek music, vibrant atmosphere, had a good time!

Loved this tour. We saw a lot of the different kinds of night life in Athens by visiting different types of bars that locals go to. We stopped at 3-4 places and tried traditional drinks and/or food. The rest of the time, we walked through the city and saw various sights. I would recommend this tour.

It was really a private tour- just the two of us, the guide and a trainee, very enjoyable!_br/_ Two notes:_br/_ 1 I expected the Meze Dishes to be more than peanuts and crisps, though we did get a portion of doner, which we ate while walking._br/_ 2 I was written Fares included- no transport was used, except for the Metro ride back, which we paid for!

After a long flight from the States, we wanted to start off our Athens trip with a bang. The Twilight Athens Small Group Tour was the perfect introduction. Our guide Maeva was awesome with her nervous fivesome. She kept up the conversation about life in the big city and answered all our questions. We ate in small out of the way places and enjoyed many local libations. We also learned where to return for lunch the next day. Go ahead and take the tour. Jump in with both feet!

I really enjoyed my time on this tour. I was the only one so it ended up being a private tour, so I think she prob modified it a bit to my taste. The last stop had live traditional music, not sure if that was supposed to be the bouzoukia place or not, but it was fun. Overall a good night out.

I and #39;ve done many tours in many countries but this one stands out. Rebecca, Mike and Gina are such an amazing team. This is not about tourist attractions, it and #39;s an authentic experience that takes you through nightlife in Athens from the Athenians point of view. and you end up with new and awesome friends.
