Private tour pairing a guided tour of the award-winning family-run Papagiannakos winery and vineyards, with an afternoon coastal drive to explore Cape Sounion at the southern most tip of Attica & the spectacular clifftop Temple of Poseidon.

After pickup at your hotel & short briefing on the day & to assess any preferences & needs you may have, we set off towards the heart of the Attica Vineyards to meet your hosts and expert guide at the Papagiannakos winery. Over approximately two and a half hours you will enjoy an extensive tour of the winery, cellars, and in good weather a walk to the nearby vines as you hear of its history, its use of local grape varieties, the ideal local cultivation conditions &  award winning production before finally enjoying a glass amidst the wineries beautiful surroundings. An optional tasting of up to three, five, or eleven wines along with traditional breads & olive accompaniments is also available on request.

After lunch by the sea nearby, we take a country drive for around 40 minutes to enjoy the Aegean coast line, sea air, and to explore the beautiful area of Cape Sounion and the breathtaking Temple of Poseidon perched on the shear cliff edge with its panoramic sea views. We learn how the Aegean got its name, the importance of the Temple in Greek history and of previous visitors from Theseus to Lord Byron during his own Grand Tour. We spend all the time you need for photographs & enjoyment of this magnificent site before your return.
