Coleen called us that morning to let us know that, as NZ had just won the Americas Cup, touring Queen St that afternoon would be in the grand parade, and so not possible. Instead she offered to pick us up for the morning tour of gourmet foods, and so only a couple of hours off the flight from the USA, we were on the way to the coffee roaster! Watching coffee being roasted, and then sampling it was a great start, and topped off by an amazing gourmet food store with incredible cheeses and other accompaniments, followed by an excellent lunch and a tour of many parts of Auckland it all made a perfect start to our visit to New Zealand and we adjusted to the time beautifully. Colleen was very knowledgable about the city and threaded us through the city to interesting chocolatiers, bars, sidewalk stalls, and ice cream shops. A great way to get oriented and recommendations.
