The Auckland City Highlights Walking Tour begins in impressive Aotea Square, site of many important cultural attractions such as the Auckland Town Hall and the magnificent Waharoa Arch. After a short introduction here, we begin making our way down bustling Queen Street to two well-known attractions, The Civic Theater and Kate Sheppard Memorial.
We then head to the Auckland Art Gallery Toi O Tamaki, recently extended in a contemporary style, gaining fantastic views of the Sky Tower along the way, which we discuss in detail.
After a visit to picturesque Albert Park a site with many intriguing secrets, we head along quaint Vulcan lane and High Street exploring some of Auckland’s earliest history and fashionable shops.
Following this, we make our way down lower Queen Street, stopping to see two important Maori sculptures on the waterfront. The tour then follows Queens Wharf, location of the beautiful Cloud, historic Shed 10 and elegant Ferry Building.
After a stroll along one of Auckland’s waterfront piers the walking tour concludes at Auckland's Waterfront. Here you can enjoy stunning views looking out toward the Harbor Bridge, Rangitoto, Devonport and the magnificent Waitemata Harbor.

Great introduction to Auckland! Lots of information about the history and character of the city and country. Nice walking route that revealed streets and parks we might have missed. Ended at the port--lovely view of the harbor. Justin Ewins was a very good guide.

Justin was an excellent tour guide. My husband and I got lucky and were the only ones on this tour. Justin's knowledge and personal connection to Auckland made for a great tour guide. He even introduced us to our new favorite coffee - the Flat White. We are now back in the States and are trying to find cafes that serve that awesome drink!
