After a pickup from your Auckland hotel, travel by comfortable minivan along Queen Street, taking in its picturesque heritage architecture. Continue to motor through Auckland’s central business district, past Auckland University and the Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park, before reaching Ponsonby, a lively district known for historical buildings and interesting shops.

From Ponsonby, a short hop over Auckland Harbour Bridge leads to the North Shore, where you’ll stroll along Narrow Neck Beach in historical Devonport. Next, take a trip up nearby Mt Victoria for stunning views. 

From Mt Victoria, return over Auckland Harbour Bridge to Westhaven Marina, one of the largest marinas in the southern hemisphere, and see the abundant vendors and restaurants of the Auckland Fish Market, to complete your city tour.

Afterwards, travel for roughly 30 minutes to Kumeu Wine Country, a region settled by Croatian immigrants in the early 1900s who started making the wine that is now world famous. Learn from your guide about the skillful blend of traditional and modern techniques practiced at your first stop: the award-winning Soljans Estate Winery. Savor their wine and enjoy a Mediterranean-style lunch made with fresh regional produce.



After lunch, visit Muriwai Beach, where the gannet (a large seabird) comes to nest from August to April. Follow your guide while looking for some of the 1,000 pairs of gannets that breed here — one of the few mainland gannet-nesting sites in the world.

Freshen up after the bird-watching with a tasting at Matua Valley Wines. Then, make your last stop of the day at West Brook Winery, to taste regional varietals and take in the scenic vineyards. Finally, relax on the scenic journey back to your Auckland hotel!
