Piha Beach Surfing Lesson from Auckland

Hit the rolling waves off the New Zealand coast on this 7-hour Piha Beach surf lesson from Auckland. Travel from the city to the coast, and enjoy sweeping views over the Waitakere Ranges along the way. Then, pull on your wetsuit and take to the water as your instructor demonstrates how to paddle, pop onto the board, and master the waves. Practise the basics or improve your technique, then refuel with lunch in a local café. This tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off in central Auckland.

Following a 9:30am pickup at your centrally located accommodation in Auckland, take the 45-minute journey out to Piha Beach and meet your instructor to begin your 7-hour surf experience. Along the way, admire fine views over the Waitakere Ranges — the largest regional park in Auckland.

On arrival, climb into your wetsuit and get fitted with a surfboard, then hit the waves with your instructor for your 3-hour lesson. Learn the correct paddling techniques and master the art of popping onto your board, and pick up the skills to ride the waves like a local.

Afterward, dry off and explore the beach a little during free time, then enjoy lunch in a local café. Then, transfer bac to your Auckland hotel to conclude your tour.
