A day of excitement and nature awaits on Waiheke Island, with three zipline flights above the forest, an interpretive walk through native bushland, and a mini-tour of the island. Just a short ferry ride from Auckland, Waiheke Island is an idyllic location for a zipline adventure, with stunning views over the Hauraki Gulf.
At your chosen time, catch the ferry to Waiheke Island (own expense), just 11 miles (18km) from Auckland, then be met at the island’s ferry terminal by your professional guide.
Enjoy a 25-minute mini-tour of Waiheke en route to the visitor center at Trig Hill, where you’ll have fabulous views from one of the island’s highest points, taking in panoramas of Auckland and the Hauraki Gulf.
Then check in, grab your safety gear, and make your way to the first viewing platform for your three exciting 655-foot (200-meter) zipline flights. With a maximum of 12 zipline participants, you'll receive personal attention from your expert guide. After an instructional briefing, you’ll be safely attached to the zipline by a full-body harness.
To ease you into the zipline experience gently, your first zipline flight takes you above an undulating vineyard for thrill that’s not quite as intense as bungy jumping – New Zealand’s most famous adrenaline-pumping pastime – but just as exciting!
The second and third zipline flights take you across a valley, above a carpet of native forest. To add to the adventure, the gradient is gradually increased on these two flights.
Back on the ground, take an easy 1-mile (1.5-km) interpretive forest walk back to the visitor center on your own. You’ll learn about New Zealand’s diverse flora and fauna.
After your eco-adventure, you’ll be returned to the island’s terminal, where ferries make the 40-minute trip back to Auckland roughly every hour (own expense, approximately $35 per passenger return ticket).
Amazing experience! A great mix of adrenaline fun and a short nature walk to learn more about the preserved eco system on Waiheke Island. There are 3 zip lines in total and they all provide an exceptional view of the surrounding._br/_ I think the trip is of good value as well compare to other ziplining options in NZ. The driver picked me up from the ferry terminal and provided all of us a brief and interesting history of the island, our guides were friendly and professional and made sure everyone is safe and feels that way too. I also enjoyed the nature walk at the end, so many interesting facts and it's great to know how much the company and NZ is currently doing to preserve the environment.

This is such an awesome day trip, it's the most fun I have had ever! The zipline was so much fun, the instructors made me feel reassured and safe. You get picked up from the ferry terminal at the island and dropped where the zipline tour is. The zipline tour is approximately 2 hours and also includes a tour around the forest which was really nice. Worth the money!

Excellent experience. Not as thrilling as a bungee but it is definitely a good start for your adventure. Staff were good.
I love zip lines, so getting a course while traveling in NZ was a must. These are three short lines but over beautiful territory. That being said, the eco hike after the zip lines was the highlight! After the third line, you hike about a mile back to the start thru a forest of awesomeness. The guide, Honey, was wonderful. She stopped to explain and talk about almost every variety of trees, flowers, and birds. If this is not your thing, this may not be your tour. We were paired up with five young boys, which caused a bit of a distraction for the line guides, but still worth the experience. The pickup at the ferry was easy, and the driver told us and then drove us to an awesome place for lunch, Mudbrick. After a long lunch and wonderful wine we hiked thru the woods back to the ferry, which made the journey complete.

Fantastic experience with supportive and entertaining guides who took health and safety issues very seriously but established a great atmosphere of fun and enjoyment across the group, encouraging everyone individually to have a go and really enjoy the zipline!

This was my first zipline experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I particularly liked how each run was a little longer/steeper. The ladies guiding us through each run were professional and personable. The short talks during the walk back were well timed and informative.

This was so much fun. I am close to 70 years old, have had multiple joint replacements, and was afraid it would be too much for me but it was great . The staff there was very helpful and patient and made it a once in a lifetime experience

So much fun! This was my first zip-line experience and I was a bit nervous, but was put at ease immediately upon meeting our guides. They were kind, professional and informative! I felt very safe the entire time. The views were gorgeous and the forest walks between zip lines were very cool, as well. Definitely a highlight of our Auckland trip!

Fabulous fun. Guides were amazing, knowledgeable and very nice. Easy zip lines for all to enjoy. Views were great. Walk up the hill was a little muddy and slippery in places but view of rain forest was great.

Waiheke Island is beautiful and this is a great way to see some of it. The views were spectacular. The ziplining was fun though here is a hint - lean backwards before you reach the platform to minimize stress on your back, especially if you are over 50 like this reviewer!. The staff was fun, professional and very safety conscious. I was pleasantly surprised by the walk back up the hill - a nature walk through their own reserve. Our guide was knowledgeable about New Zealand's flora and fauna and passionate about conservation.

What a fun trip and zipline! The staff was excellent and the scenery breathtaking. My only complaint was that I booked the trip for a Saturday, but somehow they had us down for Sunday. You need to look into your booking timelines from the USA to Auckland.

This tour was a lot of fun! They picked us up at the ferry making it very easy to get to the sight. We then got started quickly with the ziplines which were great. My only complaint is there are only 3 so it's a pretty short ziplining trip. The walk back was beautiful.

It was raining on the day we went, not a hard rain but an annoying drizzling rain, but we zip lined any way. It was fantastic! There are two lines running in tandem so you can race each other. We rented a gro pro and it was a good investment because then we could actually see the scenery we zoomed across. The last line is particularly fast....and steep...thrilling! After the zip line, we do a bush walk, up and down the mountain to get back to base. It was a bit challenging because of the mud, but under the canapy the forest was magical. Definitely wear good trekking shoes.

It was great! Wonderful communication to my questions. Small group. They were very concerned about our safety first and then our fun. The lines are fast - meaning it takes more time to get ready than the actually zipping but very much worth it. They tell you what goes down must go up - and so it is. We had a nice walk up.

The group at EcoZip tours were phenomenal!! We highly recommend doing this excursion as you get a full history of Wahike Island and the zip line experience. I also recommend staying for lunch on the island then taking a later ferry back to Auckland. Excellent excursion and will do it again when we come back to New Zealand.

The ziplining was awesome and highly recommended - the walk back to HQ was uninformative and quite a dissapointment and then my sister in law fell and all the guide could say was oophs it's quite steep isn't it!and picked up her helmet. Didn't bother to help her or ask her if she was hurt or anything - turns out she broke both bones in her left wrist.

It was amazing! Jeremy picked us up from the ferry terminal and he was so lovely. The staff at zip-line were very through in making sure we were all safe. Overall, had an awesome time flying over the forest and the walk through the bushland is just magical. Our guide was so funny and very knowledgeable. I just recommend wearing gum boots or shoes that you won't mind getting dirty because they will get really dirty! The island itself is just so beautiful with breathtaking views all over. Do not forget your camera!

This is one of the best things I have ever done. We took the ferry to Waiheke Island and this itself was well worth it. As promised Jake was at the terminal waiting for us. We were very lucky there was only four in our group for the day. We had a beautiful scenic drive including a photo stop to ziplines. Jake and Sarah were so competent and safety conscious we all felt very safe and comfortable attempting our first zipline. It is such good fund and very exhilarating. A little tip - very hard to concentrate on taking a video and hanging on at the same time for first timers. They do offer hire of a camera pro that fits on your helmet to film for around A39. We had a good idea of giving our camera to the other couple so they could film us and we have theirs to film them. Unfortunately we didn't think of this until after the third and final zipline. Really, really good day and we go Jake to drop us back in the little town where we found some lovely little bars and restaurants. Cannot rave enough about Jake and Sarah they were excellent guides. After the zipline you get a magnificent walk back to base through the rainforest of about 20 minutes. This alone was well worth going there. Well done Waiheke Island and Zipline!!!

What a great event. The guides technicians that help you were exceptional! the entire system is almost brand new and probably the safest in the world. The views from the location on Waiheke were amazing. The ziplines themselves were exhilarating! particularly like the auto braking. Be sure and get the Go Pro selfie option. The hike backup was almost as fun as it was a lesson in New Zealand nature marvels. A trip to New Zealand is incomplete without doing this trip!
