Highly recommend this tour. Excellent guide who was pleasant, accommodating and very knowledgeable. Visited a couple of waterfalls as a bonus. Who knew there was this beautiful and amazing countryside within the city limits of Auckland!

The tour was a wonderful escape from the city. The trip from East to West, the Pacific ocean to the Tasman sea, was filled with beautiful overlooks, a waterfall, a black sand beach and an easy, very informative nature hike. We were even served with tea, coffee and cookies at our beach stop.

We really enjoyed our trip to Waitakere Ranges and Piha Beach! The pick-up was on time, the tour bus was comfortabel, the guide was great !, we learned a lot about New Zealand's flora and fauna which was very relevant for the rest of our trip and both Waitakere Ranges and Piha Beach are beautiful areas to see. We would definitely recommend this trip!

Fantastic tour our guides Shaun and Dawn were fabulous, made me feel immediately welcome and were extremely knowledgeable about the local history. The bus was air conditioned and comfortable, and had just the right number of people to feel friendly. We started off by stopping at a bakery to pick up some lunch, and then went on to the national park to admire the view and go on a very informative forest walk. Shaun was very knowledgeable about the different trees and plants and was full of interesting facts and stories. We also stopped by the stunning Piha beach and had tea, coffee, cold drinks and home made cookies baked by Dawn. We were also kept entertained on the journey with interesting stories about the history of the area. Overall excellent tour and I would highly recommend. Thank-you to Shaun and Dawn for your excellent guiding!

Our guide and driver David and Bryan could not have been nicer. The places we visited the Black beeches and the various forests_br/_ Were both beautiful and interesting._br/_ Their knowledge of the ecology of the area we visited and the plants was impressive._br/_ For me it was it was a real treat. On several tours I used to ask questions about the plants here I got very detailed answers. A real treat for any plant lover!_br/_ They surprised us with a lovely high tea/coffee picnic ._br/_ Was a great day highly recommend it.

Tony was most knowledgeable._br/_ The hotel pickup, the small minibus for the 8 of us, was most comfortable. We travelled through the beautiful western Waitakere Ranges, stopping at Titiranga at The Mill Bakery for a takeaway lunch, the Arataki Visitor Centre, Kitekite Falls to Piha and light refreshmeets.

We booked this excursion the day before we went and were happy we did! It was a nice getaway from the main city and like the rest of New Zealand, we were surrounded with beautiful scenery. Our favorite part was going to Piha Beach which was nearly deserted due to the chilly weather. Guide Alex, I believe was very knowledgable and shared many interesting facts about the area.
We started our week trip to NZ with this half day tour. Our guide, Alex, was perfect in narrating our trip. We had a bit of rain, but that didn't distract from the beautiful scenery of this country. The hike was educational and really good. Pretty easy hike, too. Stop at Piha beach was my highlight! So awesome! This was a very relaxing tour and a great way to way to get oriented to NZ. Loved it.

This was my second time taking this trip, the first was in 2014. The second trip did not disappoint. Mike and Alan were excellent guides whose commentary kept us informed and entertained. A relaxing trip through to the west coast with amazing views along the way. The easy bushwalk led by Alan and Mike who shared their extensive knowledge of the bush was a highlight. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone.

This was an outstanding tour. I wanted to get a flavor of the country beyond the city of Auckland and this tour hit the mark. The guides Erin and Shawn were knowledgeable, friendly and kept us on track without making us feeling rushed. Beautiful, diverse scenery, plenty of opportunities for photos, and very good food from the bakery we stopped at. Well worth the time and money!

I took this tour on the same day I arrived in Auckland from Chicago. It was raining like mad when I arrived at the airport but by the time I went on the tour it had stopped. Because of the rain the waterfall was raging and beautiful. The river/creeks were lovely as well. We stopped at a bakery on the way and I saw some roosters at the nearby cafe. I like animals what can i say? Others on the tour said the bakery goods were very good too. Later we took a hike through some of the woods and saw some of the protected species of trees and other flora native to New Zealand. We were given a nice tea and some local honey on biscuits later which was a very nice ending to our tour. Loved this tour, professional tour company and guides. Thank you for making my trip to New Zealand a fun one!

I called the morning of the tour to confirm the pickup location and was told I was likely going to be the only one on the tour that day. It turned out to be true. The tour guide was very accommodating and was able to show me stops and sites they usually don't include in the standard tour. A wonderful day in nature, in the rain forest and at the beach. Our guide was a bit of a chatty-Cathy, though. He was a really nice chap, very friendly, good-natured, and outgoing. I just wish he'd given us just a few minutes of quiet now and then.

Great experience great guides. The trip was completely worth it._br/_ I wish they had told me in advance to bring my jandles and togs for the beach. I have to say the tour is extremely well planned. There is a comfortable amount of walking at a relaxed pace. The guides are friendly, fun and keep you going through the tour.

This tour was awesome! The guide was very knowledgeable of each location we visited. Some very cool crates and geo-thermal sights I've never seen in my life. Easy to communicate with, they picked us up from our hotel and dropped off same.. Thank you!

By far the BEST tour I had in New Zealand. The guides were incredibly funny and engaging. I signed-up for the tour by myself, and the guides went above and beyond to make me feel included in the group. You learn so much about the ecology and cultural history of New Zealand without feeling like you're listening to a lecture. It's obvious that the tour guides are passionate about this area and love sharing it with visitors.

This was a great way to get out of the city. The black sand beach was beautiful. We had time to walk around and take photos. I never felt rushed. The driver was informative and super funny. The hike to the waterfall was super easy for me, but I am an avid hiker. It's pretty easy going though and worth seeing the beautiful waterfall. Great trip all around!
