A full-day tour which combines two of New Zealand's most iconic attractions in a fun tour from Auckland. The 45-minute Waitomo Glowworm Caves excursion is one of New Zealand's oldest and most recognized attractions. Continue to Hobbiton where you will get immersed in to the Movie Set location in a 2-hour tour of Hobbiton - you don't need to be a Lord of the Rings fan to love this. Depart from Auckland at approximately 6:15am from one of the pick-up points along Queen Street (see departure location for details) in a comfortable 11-seat van or 22-seat mini-bus. From Auckland begin the 2.5-hour scenic drive to Waitomo.
Arriving at Waitomo at approximately 9:30am, begin the 45-minute Glowworm Caves tour. Marvel at the stunning display as you learn about the Glowworms and the Caves history.
Enjoy free time and further activities such as walks, lunch, other caving options (please note at own expense).
Once your time at Waitomo Caves is complete, you will be taken to Hobbiton. Enjoy the stunning 75-minute drive to Hobbiton, you’ll be sure to grab some great photos along the way.
Enjoy a 2-hour Hobbiton Movie Set tour, where you will see famous locations such as Bilbo’s home Bag End, the Green Dragon Inn, and the Party Tree. You’ll be amazed by the beauty, history, and size of this location.
After, return to Auckland or finish in Rotorua is also available for most Caving and Hobbiton options.
