Full Day Provencal Villages and Lavender Fields Walking Tour from Avignon

Departing from Avignon, this tour will take you first to the beautiful Provence village of Fontaine de Vaucluse, located by the river.
Then you will go to Abbaye de Senanque, a majestic 12th Century abbey surrounded by lavender fields. Your next stop will be Gordes, a famous hilltop village made of local dry stone, followed by the unique village of Roussillon, renown for its shades of red. After lunch, explore the lavender fields to stimulate all your senses, and finally, discover the village of Sault, capital of lavender, to cool the heat of the day.

Start your tour around 9am from Avignon and enjoy the destinations and activities of the day.

Your guide will take you first to Fontaine de Vaucluse, a beautiful village located by the river Sorgue. Have a walk up to its spring, one of the biggest in Europe.

Have a stop at the Abbaye de Senanque, and take as many pictures as you want of this majestic 12th century Abbey, surrounded by lavender fields.

After the photo-stop at the 'belvedere', head off to Gordes, a hilltop village made of local dry stones, and and walk in the provencal market (on Tuesday.)

Explore then the Provencal village of Roussillon, and observe its typical shades of ocher of the houses and the ground, which vary with the sunlight. The Provencal market on Thursday adds even more colors. There you will take your lunch break (not included).

After the lunch, your guide will take you to the lavender fields. Fill your body of fresh lavender fragrance, take some pictures and have a look at a distillation operation during harvest.

Your final stop is the quiet and wild village of Sault, in the middle of a bucolic landscape, isolated from civilization. There enjoy some free time for shopping, taste a lavender ice cream or have a nice drink on a panoramic terrace.

At the end of the tour, your guide will drive you back to Avignon.
