Full Day Provence Villages and Historical Monuments Walking Tour from Avignon

This 10-hour small-group tour will take you to some of the main highlights of the Provence region. Visit the Fontaine de Vaucluse spring, the Gordes hilltop village followed by the Lavender Museum. Visit Roussillon with its amazing colors, and Saint Remy de Provence to admire the Van Gogh's reproductions. Explore Les Baux de Provence village and gaze at the famous Roman aqueduct, and UNESCO World Heritage site, Pont du Gard.

Meeting your guide at your downtown Avignon accommodations, or the central meeting point, in the morning. The first step the tour will be Fontaine de Vaucluse, a beautiful village located by the river Sorgue, and walk up to its renowned spring, one the biggest in Europe.

Visit Gordes and take wonderful pictures at the belvedere before the visit of this famous hilltop village made of local dry stones. On Tuesdays you will have the opportunity to explore the Provencal market.

Visit the Lavender Museum (entrance included) and learn about the culture and traditional heritage of lavender craft.

Then it is time to head off to the village of Roussillon, which weaves its spell all year long with its multiple-shaded ocher houses which vary with the sunlight. Have a walk in the traditional market on Thursdays.

Take a lunch break after (at own expense).

After your lunch, move on to the world renowned Saint Remy de Provence, and gaze at the Van Gogh's reproductions near the asylum where he stayed for one year.

Your next step is Les Baux de Provence, a typical Provencal village that used to be a medieval stronghold. Admire the paved streets and the amazing panorama.

Finally, your guide will take you to the Pont du Gard (entrance included), where you can discover the famous roman aqueduct, and walk around to find your best photo spot.

At approximately 6:30pm the tour will head back to your original departure point.
