Private Full-Day Tour of Cotes du Rhone with Wine Tasting from Avignon

This full-day private tour will give you the opportunity to discover a great variety of Cotes du Rhone fine wines and feel the typical terroir. Learn with your professional guide about the grape varieties used, how they are used and the history of the area. Experience a wine tasting in each cellar visited. Take your lunch in some delicious gastronomic French restaurants (not included), where the cuisine is made of fresh seasonal products, in lovely places. After this tour, the southern Cotes du Rhone will have no secrets for you anymore.

Meet your guide at 8:30am and start your full-day tour in the south of Avignon for a discovery of Tavel's vineyards. Proclaimed as the first "Rosé de France", a very popular fresh and fruity pink renowned for its quality. This wine can be served at anytime of the day: as an aperitif or with a great variety of meals. Visit the Holy Family's Missionary Father's bicentenary vineyards and abbey, and taste their traditional wine.

For the lunch, you have two options, you can go to Lirac. This very typical red has complexity and bouquets, deep ruby robe, and the woods and licorice developing aromas during aging, make it an excellent "vin de garde". Enjoy a typical French lunch (approximately € 22/pers.), Made of fresh seasonal products, at the "Chateau". 

The second choice for lunch is the Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Château des Fines Roches" for a gastronomic French lunch (from € 32/pers.), also made of fresh seasonal products, and have an optional wine tasting as aperitif (not included).

After the lunch, have a short walk to the viewpoint for a quick historical report, followed by the next winery: Laudun planted on small hills, around a lovely village. A very discrete area, but producing one of the best white wines. You will discover a traditional cellar, the owners themselves will be happy to let you taste their production.

Then head off to your last stop: the highlight of the area: Chateauneuf du Pape, which is one of the world's most famous and renown wines of the Cotes du Rhône. Visit one of the most prestigious wine cellars. Have a guided tour of the vineyards first to discover the wine making process and the terroir type and then taste several reds and whites of different years, in different cellars.

Finally, head on the wine museum, where you can finalize your initiation of the Côtes du Rhône with the audio-guide, before the last wine tasting.

At the end of the tour, your guide will drive you back to Avignon around 6pm.
