Saint Remy, Les Baux and Pont du Gard Small Group Day Trip
Avignon, France
Journey to Saint Remy de Provence for stop at the Antiques (Triumphal Arch and funeral monument) located in a field of olive trees; a landscape painted several times by Van Gogh.
Visit Les Baux de Provence, village located upon a rock at 245 meters high, with its historical center: the Museum of Santons, the Hotel des Porcelets, beautiful houses of the 16th century, the St. Vincent Church, pretty Romanesque buildings.
Visit of the famous site le Pont du Gard dated from the first century AC and classified by UNESCO. It is an absolutely amazing and well preserved part of the Roman aqueduct of Nîmes.
We had a great time. Melanie's driving was excellent. Her knowledge of the region was very good. She was friendly and funny. The countryside was very pretty. We only wish we could have had a longer time maybe 10 minutes extra in the Pont du Gard and in Les Baux. Those sites are very touristy and since the streets in Les Baux are so narrow, it took time to get to the castle. By the time we made it there, we felt that we would not have had enough time to visit it. So we turned back.

The day was perfect.... The drive was delightful, our guide was knowledgable, friendly, and engaging. His obvious love of the country and the art of Van Gogh, made the trip that much more meaningful.

Terrible driver Emily from Provence Reservation. First she was late which she blamed her colleague. Then she came with wrong equipment so she blamed her company. The tour started an hour late. She didn't control the time at each stop. Instead, she chose not to drop everyone off at hotels in the end.

This was our first tour leaving from Avignon, and both of them got off to a late start. They seem to underestimate the traffic and the time needed to pick up everyone at various hotels. Our tour guide had some interesting information, and overall it was a decent way to see some of the sites in the area without renting a car. However, I would not use this company again due to other experiences.

We were able to see the sights, but felt rushed. At Pont du Gard, we were not given the information that the aqueduct was not accessible. So some of us hiked to where the opening of the aqueduct and the entrance to walk across was closed. We proceeded to hike to the other side, and ran up the hill due to limited time and discovered that it was closed too.

The guide is such a nice girl however her instruction didn't give out too clearly. One of the place meant to spend 5, 10 mins for a photo then some people walked further down away to Saint Remy town. We waited there for 40 mins and had to skip the next place then back to Avignon.

We had a wonderful half day tour of Pont du Gard, Les Baux and the Saint Remy area in April 2014. We were picked up by our friendly tour guide, Marie in the morning and made our way to Pont du Gard. After being given time to walk around and take in the views, she drove us to Les Baux and we had time to walk around and shop and have a quick lunch. Les Baux is a 'must-see.' Then we toured the area surrounding Saint Remy which includes ancient ruins (Glanum).

Well planned trip with excellent guide. Small group of 9 of us. I would have liked more time at the Pont du Gard - it was rather rushed. Pick up and drop off at hotel a bonus.

This tour is awesome! From the ancient town near Van Gogh's hospital, to the quaint and ancient town of Les Baux and inspiring Pont du Gard - it made for a relaxing and informative trip through the countryside.

A good tour that give you a basic overview of some of the highlights of the area. Les Baux is a beautiful hill-top town, Pont du Gard is amazing and St Remy is nice. It is an overview, so not too much time spent at any one place, where you could spend at least a half day at each.

Nice way to see a lot in a short time. Great sampling of the area and sites.

Time for Pont du Gard is too short for us but we have plenty of time for Saint Remy.....As we are not the fans for Vincent van Gogh, we need to wait at the hospital for 15 min. The visit for Les Baux de Provence is nice.

Did and excellent job. He wason time, bright, very knowledgeable and knew his wy very well. The tour covered a lot of ground. My only compliant is that your itinerary needs to have more guide participation, guiding like walking with group. I enjoyed the freedom.

It was nice. However, we did wish to see Nostradamas' house and were told "there's no time." But then when we got finished with Pont du Gard, we were told we were early and we had to now kill time. That was annoying. Instead we chose to go back to the hotel. I just wish the tour was a little better.
