Full Uluru Base Walk at Sunrise including breakfast

Ayers Rock, Australia

Come and join your guide on a trek around the base of Uluru as you explore the most profound and culturally significant monolith in Australia at sunrise.

As you start your sunrise trek around the 12-kilometre base trail of Uluru you will embrace the culture, geology and environment that is the essence of this amazing monolith.

Along the trail you will witness sunrise, visit waterholes and the rock art sites of the ancients and learn of Uluru’s cultural significance to the Anangu (local Aboriginal) people. Take time out to enjoy your picnic outback breakfast as you listen to the variety of desert noises from the surrounding environment.

On your journey around the base, your guide will tell you a number of stories associated with prominent Tjukurpa (Dreaming) stories. You will make you way to the entrance of Mutitjulu Waterhole, a semi-permanent watercourse nestled in the contours of Uluru. Here you will learn the Creation stories of Liru (poisonous snake) and Kuniya (python).

On completion of your journey your guide will then return to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort

Enjoyed the walk around the base, set at a nice pace and provided with sufficient refreshments for the journey. The Guide was very passionate about the area and was well rehearsed, but suggest a little less preaching in regard to behaviour and respect for Uluru. Allow people to discover its wonders themselves. Enjoyed being in a smaller group.

Peaceful walk at a good pace brisk enough, but with plenty of time for photos, taking in the sights and sounds and listening to stories. We were led by a lovely and well informed guide, and it was a privilege to be in such a magical place. It was a good time of year to do the walk temperature between 8 and 20 degrees, and not too early a start compared to summer. The desert was looking very green, and there were lots of birds around, particularly at the water hole. It was exceptionally good.

This was my first tour, after arriving in Uluru and I was thrilled to come away, having learnt so much from our 2 guides, Lachie and Gareth. They were absolutely amazing!!!!!!!! They told us the stories of the Anangu people and how they lived, as we walked along at a leisurely pace and pointed out and named all the types of trees and birds we saw along the way. It was as amazing journey, walking beside The Rock and imaging what it would have been like to live, as these people did, for sooooo many years!!!! Lachie was a font of information and made the walk so informative, I was really thrilled. We sat and had an enjoyable breakfast half way through the walk, over looking the area where you are permitted to climb. I am pleased to say it was closed on this particular day, but some people were still flaunting the rules and attempting to climb a small area. I sincerely look forward to the climb being closed for good!!_br/_ I can highly recommend this trip, rather than walk the walk by yourself, as you learn soooo much. Thank you again, Lachie and Gareth.

Absolutely fabulous way to take in the majesty of this sacred site. Our guide provided an educational commentary on the indigenous Australians and the significance of the site.

Las guias fueron muy atentas y simpáticas. Son unos 12km, el camino es fácil aunque con el calor el final se hace un poco más duro. Uluru es impresionante!! Merece la pena hacer el tour!

Although parts of the walk were closed off due to the floods they endured it was still a really excellent morning. The place is quite spectacular and had an outstanding guide in Shannon, who's passion for her job rubbed off on all the people in the group

Small group tour with Seit tours. The walk itself is lengthy 12km, but it is flat and easy walking. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking for about 3.5 to 4 hours. You'll also want to dress in layers as it can be quite chilly before the sun comes up and you will warm up from all the walking. The view of Uluru up close was neat. Our guide stopped at several spots to tell stories or explain the history of the rock. About halfway through the tour we stopped for breakfast and sat in a covered pavilion facing the rock. This was also the only restroom stop along the way, but our guide told us if we really had to go at any point that we could duck behind a bush. Breakfast consisted of cereal, fruit cup, granola bar, Anzac biscuits, and choice of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. The tour concluded with a final view of the rock and our guide taking pictures of us with it in the background. Overall this was a nice tour, however, we didn't stop to appreciate or take in the sunrise as I thought the tour would.

This was a truly memorable day thanks to our very well informed guide. Her name Sylvia, has thoroughly researched and studied to teach us about Uluru and the significance of all we saw on this very special long walk. A nice breakfast was provided. My husband and I agree that this was the highlight of our trip to Ayres Rock Resort and by far the best tour guide we have ever had anywhere in all our travels.

It was fantastic. Learnt so much about the spiritual aspect of Uluru. Loved the walk. Not difficult at all. Breakfast as we sat and looked at Uluru was great. I would recommend this walk to all.

An amazing walk around Uluru with a knowledgeable and interesting guide Hannah. Listening to the stories whilst being in the places was magical. We did not realise how beautiful the actual rock was until we got up close and personal. Thanks Hannah for a great walk.

Very long walk, but flat and level. Saw a lot of historical sites, bot no wildlife. The sunrise was beautiful and the area was as well. The tour guides were exceptional.

A great walk around the base of Uluru. Starting just before sunrise with an informative and personable guide, Ronald from Chile. Made all the better for having a very small group which SEIT promise.

Very long and eventually very hot and the flies were awful! If you are going to Uluru in the summer buy a mosquito net. The flies like your eyes, mouth, ears and nose. We wish we had known about this before hand. We had booked a combo sunrise/sunset tour that got cancelled and at the last minute booked two separate tours and this was one of them - would not do this tour again.

Although it was extremely hot when we did the tour the early start meant half the walk was done before the heat kicked in.It was fascinating hearing the stories from our well informed guide from SEIT and getting up close to so many iconic parts of Uluru.

Led by a guide from SEIT, we were a group of 8. Our guide, Ronaldo sp?, explained the various implications of Uluru to the aboriginal peoples from the area he explained its history, geology, several legends associated with features on the geographical feature. The walk of about 12.5K lasted 4-1/2 hours starting at 5:00am and taking in an unforgettable sunrise and a break for a picnic breakfast. This is the experience of a lifetime.

We went with SE IT not AATkings and it was awesome because it was such a small group of us! AATkings is absolutely amazing and we went with them for almost all of our other tours but were glad we didn't for this one because those groups are so big! This one was very personalized and our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, funny and enthusiastic about the history and science behind Uluru. I didn't realize how much there is to see and discuss at the rock. You typically only see the postcard version of Ayer's Rock but once you get closer, you see many caves and sacred places with many fascinating stories behind them. This was a really amazing opportunity to learn all about it. I would highly recommend this tour!

This is a must do tour. Being at the base of Uluru as the sun rises is a wonderful experience. You can see the rock start to glow red as the sunlight begins to strike it. The walk around the base was flat. Even though we traveled 12km total there was always something to view and the time went quickly. Our guide Lauren did a super job of pointing out various features of Uluru and relating Aboriginal stories behind those. Very worthwhile adventure.

Even though this tour had an early start, it was a very special experience and worth the effort. This tour is a good way to get up close to Uluru in a respectful way and to learn about some of the Aborigines' stories and sacred sites around the rock. A breakfast and water is provided. The walk itself is just over 12K, but is flat and easy walking. Be sure to dress in layers as it can be quite chilly and windy before the sun comes up. Note that there is only one restroom during the entire walk about the half way point.

It was just a fabulous morning, to see the red sun on the red rock has to be experienced. Our tour guide, telling us about its history, made the walk very pleasant indeed.

This tour was the highlight of my trip. The guide was excellent and picked a great spot to watch the sunrise and then throughout the walk told many great stories and the history around Uluru. Loved the stories and seeing how it all relates back to the rock and its surface and caves was so interesting. Definitely wouldn't have been the same without this information.

The walk was amazing and our guide was informative and engaging. The breakfast unfortunately was disappointing on many_br/_ Levels. I was expecting to be able to have a coffe or tea and have time to reflect on the beauty of the sunrise at the rock but it turned out to be breakfast on the run

Our guide, Ryan, did a great job as did his assistant, Laueen, but I was disappointed that we didn't hane an indigenous guide. That would have been fantastic!

A bit unlucky with it raining but still an enjoyable experience would have been good to go to the top if the walk was open even though it's not an option on this tour

If you go to Uluru you should do this tour. The sunrise on the rock is beautiful. Walking around the rock the guide provided great insight into the cultural and geological history of the rock. You get a feel for the land by being able to walk at a comfortable pace around the base, taking in all of its unique aspects.

Amazing morning. Start of the walk is in complete darkness which adds to this mystical place. Breakfast is a bit light (cereals, juice, crackers), I'd say pack something in case you are hungry. This is a long walk and can be strenuous for the non-walkers. Guide very knowledgeable. Fun morning. Must-do!

Perfect conditions, competent guide and small group. But would it be so difficult to accomodate an aborigine guide, even if it means hiking the price a little, and maybe make the breakfast more relevant to the situation? Many thanks

Our guide, Monica, was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable!! Uluru itself is just amazing, but she made the walk around it (12 kilos for those who wondering) even more enjoyable. There were only 6 people including Monica. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent walk. Very peaceful and a great experience. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars was our guide. While he did tell us the stories about the rock and about the aboriginal people and their culture, he told the stories in a slightly tongue in cheek way, which came across slightly disrespectful.
