4 stars is given instead because I almost did not get to enjoy the tour - my tour is supposed to start at 0830hrs, and I had an uneasy feeling during breakfast hence got the Concierge of my hotel to call them at 0800hrs. Turns out, they did not have my booking! The reservation system being down the day before was their reason. They then called a guide/driver the last minute, and he reached around 0910hrs.

Our guide Made Les was excellent and helpful, collecting us from our hotel and showing us the two main Temples around Ubud, the rice terraces and a coffee plantation where we bought cat-poo-chinos they can keep them, but we liked lots of the other teas and coffees we were given to sample, and buying some to bring home. Made was an ideal guide, and we can't thank him enough for a wonderful day out.

This day turned out so well that we booked Tude Bali Sun Tours for two more days.He was an excellent guide and took very good care of us. The Cultural and Historical Day Trip was enhanced by Tude's answering all our questions and explaining about the Hindu religion's ceremonies, etc. I highly recommend it.

I highly recommend the the tour group that provided us this tour, Bali Sun tours. The tour guide's name was Tude 2D. He was very good about taking us to the right places. We first got to see a traditional Balinese dance, followed by a hike to the rice fields. We had mentioned to out tour guide that we very going to hike Mt.Batur, so he didn't take us there. Instead, we got to see this amazing waterfall. And then we got to experience Kopi Lewak, a specialty coffee. This was our first tour, and a good introduction to the exotic land of Bali.
