We booked this 6-hour tour of Bangkok. We received a voicemail message yesterday telling us we would be picked up in our hotel lobby at 9 am. At8:20 this morning, the guide phoned our room and said the 4 other people were waiting for us. The visitto thé Grand Palace was very interesting and the guide gave us good information. However we kept losing him as he walked way ahead of us or we had to walk fast to keep up with him. On to lunch. Everything was great. Then Chinatown. We drove 20 minutes through it, then we started walking. We had no time to stop and look at things and we had no shopping time although that item was on the schedule. The walk was almost a trot and the tour ended up being a 5-hour tour insstead of a 6-hour tour.

Tammi our guide was extremely knowledgeable about Bangkok and Thailand history and the major sites and temples. She explained Thailand and budhist culture and traditions as well. She was very attentive to our group 5 of us. Excellent tour.

The tour was really good. The driver and his team were very helpful and were willing to accommodate us as required. Would recommend this to anyone looking to see the city quickly. What made it the best was that we were allowed to skip all the lines. Some lines spanned over an hour for which we only waited 2-3 min because of us going with a local tour guide.

I chose this tour as it is our first time as a family to explore Bangkok. We chose the right tour. Our guide Nui was excellent. He knew the places we visited very well, was very entertaining with his stories too. Highly recommended for those who want to visit the must see places in Bangkok.

We had an wonderful day tour of temples and the royal palace led by Nui sp? There's no getting around the heat, so prepare to do a lot of sweating and wear the most comfortable/light clothes permissible. But Nui kept us fascinated and entertained throughout. A wonderful experience, and very reasonably priced. Also, our lunch was one of the best meals we had in Bangkok.

Excellent tour, highly recommend. Our guide Thuan Chai aka 'A' picked us promptly at time specified from the hotel. We picked up two more folks on the tour and headed to the Golden Buddha. We then walked around China Town for sometime and then took the van to the Emerald Buddha and Grand Palace which were spectacular. 'A' nicely explained the significance and provided knowledgeable commentary throughout the trip. Lastly, we visited the Reclining Buddha temple followed by a local restaurant. Lunch at Home Cafe Tha Thien was tasty, we got the Pad Thai and Thai green curry with chicken. We were dropped back at the hotel, traffic was crazy. Recommend buying souvenirs at the temple shops as we noticed later that they were cheaper than the markets or malls. Make sure you have a cap, good walking shoes, keep your belongings safe as it is very busy at the temples, and stay hydrated.

I don't know if this tour was designed to be a private one but it turned out that way, to our good fortune! We had our guide Newie Niwate? to ourselves as a result and he couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. He told us he's been doing this for several years and his knowledge of the city and it's history were outstanding. Thanks again for taking such good care of us and teaching us about your wonderful city!

Brilliant tour showcasing the most famous attractions in Bangkok! We didn't have much time and we wanted to see as much as possible so this tour was perfect for us! Our guide Lily made it a 5 experience. She was absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable and funny. Meal was tasty as well! The only thing I would say is that it seems a bit pricey when you see how much that entrance for all the temples are. Still, I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bangkok!

Good tour. We saw a lot in a relatively short amount of time - 3 main temples Royal Palace Flower Markets Chinatown. Our guide Nutty was caring and carried our bags of shoes and hat, so we could take pictures. You have to take your shoes off 3 times, so wear socks and be prepared to de-shoe quickly - big crowds and lots of people.Guide provided cold water twice - very good as it was hot._br/_ Very good lunch. My husband had a chicken curry and I had Pad Thai- both excellent.

Viator came and picked us up at the hotel, took us to see the Buddha in Chinatown and we were able to buy elephant pants at the market there. Then we proceeded to the Grand palace, Emerald Buddha and cut the lines. It followed with a Thai lunch with freedom to buy mango and sticky rice! Yum Yum. The guide was very good.

The guide, Mr Nui, was very friendly and knowledgeable throughout the tour. He gave us lots of interesting background information about the history and customs of Thailand, and he answered every question we asked him with impressive detail. He took particular care to make sure we had plenty of cold drinks to keep us hydrated and he made sure we didn't get separated in the palace and temples, which was not easy because they are incredibly crowded and hectic.

What a great day visiting the major temples in Bangkok, China town and a long tail boat ride through the canals. We were suppose to go to the palace but it's been closed for nearly a year because of mourning for the king. Lunch was great and tour guide helpful even with strong accent

Our tour was supposed to include the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha but nowhere during the booking process did it mention that these were closed for the month. Got an email the next day with a revised itinerary, which added Wat Arun. Fun day with amazing things to see, would have appreciated a bit more information at each site and something about the Palace even though we couldn't go in.

This is a short but extraordinary tour around 4 or 5 locations in Bangkok. Every site is worth a thousand pictures. The downside is that you will find a lot of tourist in each of them. My recommendation is to put on sunblock, wear a hat and make sure you have enough battery on your camera or cellular phone to take many pictures. Also lot of water._br/_ Our guide name was La and she went the extra mile to make our visit enjoyable. Very patient and knowledgeable.

This was a really great tour. We should have considered more carefully the itineraries of this tour and the Grand Palace Bangkok tour which we undertook the day before because there was a significant amount of overlap, but that is not a criticism of either tour, just a word of warning. We really learnt a lot about Thailand and Bangkok on this tour and were pleased that timings were adhered to because we had a flight to catch later in the day and did not wish to have to rush for our plane or to cut the tour short. We had a great, knowledgeable guide and really appreciated the way that we were looked after, including, essentially, regular supplies of bottled water. The Thai lunch was buffet style and was perfectly acceptable, although lacking in a bit of style. Would certainly recommend this tour.

We were a family of 5 pleasantly surprised by the private city tour in a very comfy mini van with just 5 of us and the amazing tour guide and ofcourse the gentle driver. We were lucky to have Ms. Luck Tidsana A and F travels as our tour guide. She was amazing and made sure that we were all comfortable throughout the tour. She was very graceful to ensure that we didn't miss out a couple of spots which were noteworthy but actually not included in the program. She not only explained the significance of the places and attractions but also voluntarily and with a smiling and charming face provided her service by clicking group photos at all the spots. We never felt her like a tour guide. She even helped us patiently in our shopping at China Town. She almost became one among us. Such was the warmth and attention she gave on us throughout the tour. Thanks Ms.Luck. You really made our day. Keep it up.

I highly recommend this tour! We had tutu as our guide and she was incredible. She takes a bunch of pictures of you at all the stops and knows a lot of history. On top of the tour description she goes above and beyond to have you feel the culture and purchases different foods to try along the way!

Overall, this was a great tour! We got to see many major sites in a relatively short period of time. This tour includes the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and the Golden Buddha- all of these are really must-sees while in Bangkok. Our guide, A, was very informative. The tour also included a walk through Chinatown in which our guide explained all the interesting foods/ingredients we were passing. This tour does involve a lot of walking in a significant amount of heat and humidity. The only thing I think should be changed is the timing of lunch. Lunch was at the end of the tour. I think it would be better to have it maybe 2/3 of the way through the tour to give everyone a rest from the heat. The tour provides hotel pick up/drop off in an air conditioned van, which is nice. the van is also used for transport between certain sites

Our tour guide was a really lovely lady and it was like a private tour our family and a couple. The quality of the restaurant we had lunce was a really good and delisious. Just the chinese market could be removed from the program and could be inserted any other interesting area in Bangkok. Chinese market is too crowded and no interesting thing for us.

Amy was a great guide. Was just two couples on the tour so lots of specialized attention. She kept the pace but let us stop and look and have time for pictures. Great introduction to Bangkok. We had our luggage lost, so Amy even took us to a mall at the end and went right in with us to make sure we found the store we were looking for. We took a tuk tuk back to the hotel which was a fun experience.

Another excellent trip. We were unable to get to the Grand Palace on our own, and were really pleased to have this part of this tour. Our guide, Emily did an amazing job: keeping our very small group together despite the huge crowds whilst explaining the history of the site. Our walking tour through Chinatown was breathtaking in that the sheer numbers of people were unbelievable. Again emily did very well indeed to keep us together. Lunch overlooking the river was very enjoyable. Would certainly recommend

The Grand Palace and the various temples included in the tour were spectacular and a must see if coming to Bangkok. The experience at the Grand Palace was extremely chaotic due to the fact that the country is in mourning for the King and therefore created long queues and additional security. Make sure you take your passport As ID with you. We were nit informed about this by Viator however another agency told us about this requirement. Our guide, A, was very informative but I think the Chinatown tour was not particularly interesting and a bit long. Lunch was basic but perfectly acceptable. This tour only had 7 persons on it so felt like a private tour. All in all good value.

Review by:   Agnieszka L,    February 2017 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
My mother, sister and I took this tour on our very first day in Bangkok to learn about the most important sites from a professional guide. we had a guide whom we called "A", as per her request. Her English was not very elaborate, sometimes difficult to understand. The trip in itself was well organised - we had a small group of 7 people, including the 3 of us. We were a bit disappointed as the information the guide provided us about the sites we visited was very basic, same or less than what we later found in the guidebook ourselves. The part of the trip in the Grand Palace was the most disappointing - we took the shortest route possible and didn't really have the chance to explore it (although, truth be said, the heat and crowds of people did not encourage a lot of sightseeing). If you wish to explore the grand Palace in some detail, choose another trip. Finally, she recommended that instead of going back to the hotel by van we walk to the flower market 20 minutes away and get back to the hotel alone - the market was almost closed at that time, not really worth seeing. We had a feeling she recommended it to us to avoid driving us back to the hotel during hours of high traffic. We noticed she gave similar tips to other participants.

We were picked up from our hotel and from there proceeded to the Grand Palace. We enjoyed the intricate designs of the various temples but it was too hot to walk and there were so many people including those who were paying their last respects for the king. They were quite strict with the dress code no shorts, mini skirt, revealing clothes but visitors can borrow loose pants from the admin office to cover subject to payment of deposit. We also visited the Reclining Buddha, Emerald Buddha, Golden Buddha and Chinatown. The tour included lunch at the Thai Navy Club along the side of the Chao Praya River. Bring an umbrella if you have low tolerance for the heat and be ready to do a lot of walking.

NOTICE: If you are traveling between now and October 2017, you won't be able to go inside the Grand Palace due to the mourning period._br/_ A great tour of the city, got to see some beautiful and unique temples and the highlight was the Grand Palace. Our guide Nancy gave us the perfect amount of time to explore each area. She would give us an explanation first and then let us explore for a given amount of time. She was also very engaging and got the whole group to interact with one another. Walking through Chinatown was a bit chaotic and not worth the time in my opinion, but everything else we saw was great. Just make sure to wear clothing that covers your shoulders and knees, because it costs money to borrow it.

Fantastic! Did 3 tours in Thailand and this one was by far my favorite. Started off great by the guide waiting in the lobby ahead of time for us. Ended up being just our small group of 4, so great personal tour. Guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Started off at the Golden Buddha. 5.5 tonnes of solid gold is as impressive as it sounds and neat story behind discovery...happy accident! I was surprised throughout the tour of how close we could actually get to the objects. You really could almost reach out and touch them different from other areas I've been where there is security/ropes/etc with a large set-back. From there, we went on a little walking tour of China Town, but a lot of shops were closed due to it being New Year's Eve. Then we were scheduled to go to the Imperial Palace followed by lunch, then the last tour. There was a HUGE line at the entrance, so we audibled and headed over to the Reclining Buddha complex. This Buddha is gold-leaf, but is so big/long...very impressive. Also, this complex was huge and had intricate stuphas throughout. As a whole, this area was the most impressive for me, and I felt I could have explored the area for several days._br/_ After the reclining Buddha, we all throught we were headed to lunch, but nope...onto the Imperial Palace. Lines were short now and soon we were in the large compound. Again, awesome Thai architecture to all the intricately decorated buildings-really beautiful. Lots to see here, but the main attraction is the Emerald Buddha. I have to say, this one was a bit anti-climactic after the first 2. Small Buddha set far up on an altar of gold leaf. The altar and set up was impressive, but the Buddha was under a spot light. With all the gold reflecting the light, it was hard to see the actual Buddha. Also, no photos allowed inside this building just as far as the entrance door, but don't bother taking any outside because they won't turn out. If you want a good photo of the Emerald Buddha, buy a post card...that's actually how I even saw what it looked like._br/_ Finally onto a very late lunch, then back to our hotel. Short commute...most sites are an easy drive and close to the city center._br/_ Overall, excellent tour and guide. If I had to change anything, we should've had lunch before our last tour but can't really fault the guide as she had to go off course when the lines were so long at the Imperial Palace._br/_ Expect crowding and bottle necks at the entrance to all the best sites, but once inside, there's a little more breathing room._br/_ Highly recommend this tour!
