Ancient and Hidden Ayutthaya By Bike

No trip to Bangkok is fully complete without seeing the ancient capital Ayutthaya. This full-day tour is a great way to experience the old city, our guides will update you on its history and take you round the ruins.

Meet your guide 7:15am where we board a local bus to Bangkoks Hua Lamphong Central Train station, where we continue by local train to Ayutthaya. The train is your window to the world and your secret to getting a peek into the daily life along the railroad.

Once in Ayutthaya, explore the city by foot and by bicycle. Get introduced to and understand the ancient capital’s history after a visit to the Travel Center Ayutthaya. Then set out for the temples: Wat Mahathat with the Buddha head in the tree trunk, Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, which was the holiest temple in the Ayutthaya period, and Wat Lokayasutharam with its impressive 37 meters long reclining Buddha.

We have lunch at a local restaurant and get familiar with the local cuisine and unique flavors.

The dessert, you will make yourself as you try hands at creating Roti Pag Pia, also known as Sai Mai and best described as a pancake rolled around candy floss. It’s an impressive art form refined over decades and with strong roots in Ayutthaya. It’s not easy, but with a bit of practice, you might get the hang of it.

With stomachs full and imagination nurtured, we venture back towards Bangkok by train and end either at Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong Central Train Station around 5.30pm or continue with us back to our meeting point.
