Bangkok by Night: Private Food, Drink and Shopping Tour

Bangkok, Thailand

Cocktails, dinner and shopping are the highlights of this private night tour in Bangkok. You’re in good hands as your local guide accompanies your private party on the Skytrain (aka Bangkok Mass Transit System, or BTS) and a boat ride along the Chao Phraya River. Sip a cocktail at a popular bar before your choice of sumptuous Thai dinner of street fare or restaurant cuisine. Then you can shop till you drop at Asiatique's many boutiques.

After your guide meets you in your hotel lobby, kick off your evening by traveling with public transportation to the heart of Bangkok and by a short walking distance to the luxury designed hotel, Sofitel So Bangkok, and then enter its stylish Park Society Bar, where you will enjoy a glass of Mai Tai Sunset cocktail amid views over the central part of the city.

From here, your knowledgeable guide shares the city’s best-kept culinary secrets with dinner at a local street food eatery or Somtum Der.

Once you’ve had your fill of delicious Thai cuisine, your guide accompanies you aboard the Skytrain (aka BTS) to the Chao Phraya River. You’ll board a boat for a relaxing 10-minute ride to Asiatique, a night market and shopping mall.

Disembark for a stroll along a 985-foot (300-meter) boardwalk bursting with more than 1,500 boutiques and 40 restaurants. The area, characterized by its wide streets and spacious warehouses, harkens back to the days when the port was a Bangkok trading post in the 1900s.

Your tour ends here, where you can continue shopping or watching local nightly entertainment.

Option 1: Street food dining
Your guide accompanies you to Soi Convent/Silom area, a popular spot to sample the best of Bangkok’s street food. Select from a wide range of savory specialties including chicken with rice, som tam (papaya salad), pad thai, and more!

Option 2: Dinner at Somtum Der restaurant
Somtum Der features gourmet Thai cuisine with original recipes to satisfy the appetite of any epicurean. Settle in for a private dinner in the awe-inspiring setting designed with early 20th-century timber salvaged from a former Thai village.

This ended up being a private tour for our small party of two. Noom was a phenomenal tour guide and gave us great insights into where the locals wine and dine. We did this tour on our first night in Bangkok and I'm so glad we did! This tour really gave us a great intro to the layout of the city as well as how to best get around. Noom also negotiated a fair price for us on a tuktuk that dropped us off right at our hotel door. Dinner was phenomenal and at a great local restaurant where there was no a shortage of food. The rooftop drinks were great and the view of the city was amazing! I highly recommend this tour if this is your first visit to BKK.

This was a fantastic walking tour around Bangkok. Tony, our guide was a vibrant and outgoing young man. We really enjoyed our tour, visiting places we hadn't seen before. We had the best fish cakes that we have ever tasted and I found my new favourite handbag store in Asiatique Markets. This tour is certainly well worth doing if you only have a few days in Bangkok.

Bo was our guide. Took us to places we wouldn't normally go, to eat food we wouldn't normally eat. We loved it!

Our guide Yui was amazing, we had a Mai Tai overlooking Bangkok from the Sofitel, navigated the ferry, skyrail and motorbike taxis, and finished with a trip to Asiatique which was an experience even in the rain. Meal was authentically Thai and the whole evening was wonderful. Highly recommended

Our guide was the best. Not only he showed us how to use public transportation in the city, he explained to us different neighborhood in the city and showed us the night food market. It was the best cultural experience we ever had.

Guide was great although we told her we did not like really spicy food and the food was too spicy for us to eat.

Great information about getting around the city, plus amazing food, great conversation with our guide, and an unmatched view to end the evening. Definitely worth the cost for an introduction to Bangkok!

My daughter 22 and I signed up for this tour the first night we were in Bangkok and it was worth it. The guide, Saran, really showed us Bangkok - how to use the subways/skytrains, different areas for nightlife, how to pick street food and shopping. He was able to answer every question asked and provided a lot of info that was outside of what you get in a travel book. This was definitley the right thing to do to put my daughter at ease for her first time outside the US. It is important to contact the company for the meeting time because the meeting time was different than Viator advertised. I was initially put off by this because I thought we were losing an hour of the tour. This was a foolish thought. With traffic density, if we had started an hour earlier, we would have spent an hour on crowded subways and sitting in traffic which would have taken away from the experience. Starting at 6pm instead of 5pm was perfect. Everything was fun and new and exciting and at the perfect pace.

This was a very fast paced tour and even though it was private we did not feel we got to take the time to really enjoy Bangkok for what it was. The tour overall was a great concept and met expectations but for the price we were disappointed it did not exceed.
