Bangkok Chinatown and Night Markets Small-Group Tour including Dinner

Bangkok, Thailand

Discover the old and new Bangkok, stop for a coffee at a 100 year-old cafe and enjoy food from the market street stalls on this Chinatown and Night Market small group tour. From hundreds of street stalls to the finest of Chinese restaurants there's plenty to tempt your taste buds. Stroll past market stalls filled with colorful flowers and plenty of bargains. Feel the vibe and watch Chinatown come alive at night.

Your guided evening tour begins along Ratchawong Pier on the Chao Phraya River. Step back in time to the old markets in Yaowarat, located in the heart of the vibrant Chinatown district. The land that now occupies the Grand Palace once belonged to Chinese traders. When King Rama I moved the capital from Thonburi to Bangkok over 200 years ago, the community was asked to move and the region became the capital of the Kingdom of Siam.

Continue from the pier and walk along Song Wat Road, which is bordered by old business buildings and warehouses - most of which are still operating today. See Wat Traimit Temple that houses a large seated Buddha and the Chinese Museum which preserves the history of the Chinese in Thailand. You'll stop at a 100 year-old coffee shop on Pha Sai Road. Relax and enjoy coffee and a snack while you take in the atmosphere.

Walk to Issarnuparb Road and a market specializing in Chinese religious products, fresh food. In the evening Yaowaraj Road becomes a sea of street stalls, collectively becoming one large food bazaar. The food options range from street stalls to the finest Chinese restaurants.

After dinner you'll walk to Saphan Put Night Market, where you'll find a vast array of clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, second hand collections and antiques on sale. You'll have plenty of opportunity to shop!

Your Chinatown and Night Market tour concludes at Pakklong Talad ("talad" meaning market), the largest wholesale flower and vegetable market in Bangkok. You will be amazed by the amount of flowers, all in different colors and shades overflowing in the streets.

Your guide can assist you in getting a taxi back to your hotel if needed.

Enthusiastic guide with reasonable English and GSOH. Chinatown was very crowded because of the Chinese New Year, but he guided us through the crowds and made sure we all kept up. The boat trip gave us a chance to view Bangkok from the river, which provided new views and a little fresh air. The food was eaten where there were no other Westerners eating, so we got the local version, restaurant version and street food version.

Tour guide was knowledgable but most streets were closed because of king's birthday ,so it was mostly food tour . Which is not agency fault at all but that is a reason I give 4 stars

Our guide "Gof"was really great. Showed us around and let us sample some food and beverages from shops we probably wouldn't have gone into alone. We enjoyed the river cruise and seeing the vibrancy of Bangkok city.

Dinner in Chinatown was different but lovely. I found the flower markets a bit boring, there were a lot of flowers but the variety was limited.

It's a good tour to get around to areas that aren't necessarily touristy places. Having a local guide to show you the way was great - and she introduced me to new street foods I was unaware of. Alot of walking [not recommended for elderly or people that can't walk / stand for about 5 hours]

Not perfectly organized:_br/_ 1. Started late._br/_ 2.The meeting point was neither close to the tour area nor to our hotels ( for the both participants of the tour) and we ended up crossing the traffic of China Town a few times because of that reason. The tour itself was a little boring. We were walking through similar crowded streets in Chinatown. The problem that its hard to find general overview tour in Bangkok city.

Trek to meeting point was a nightmare as taxi driver had no clue. On arrival the heavens opened and by the time I got out of the taxi I was ankle deep in water. However Our guide Dong was simply amazing, once the rain calmed down we stasrted our tour. Loved the street food and local resturant. China town and flower market were buzzing. Definately great tour in my opinion

We had the same guide as the tuk tuk tour, with only three of us this time. Again the English language barrier was a bit of a problem.

If going on a Tuk Tuk tour this tour is wasted. A lot of walking involved. Dinner was good where we got to know the "local" cuisine. Tour guide VERY professional and knowledgeable.

In my opinion this tour is more suited to the young and very keen walker. The Temple was excellent, but China town market was repetitive and you walk through so quick you do not actually get time to look at individual stalls if you are interested in buying anything. We actually stopped the tour after China town and caught a taxi back to the hotel. Tour guide Nop was very informative and friendly.

A small group, total four of us including me, my friend, tourist guide & one guest. But it turns out to be a very cozy and friendly gathering and we spent the time together - eating, shopping, etc. etc. It looks like we know each other for long and go to the vacation trip together.

Where do I start? We had to travel to the main railway station to be pick up by our guide, who I must say was a great young fellow. But unfortunately for him, he has a pitiful tour. No fault of his though. Two and a half hours later, we started the tour at Chinatown, 300 meters from our motel. We then walked to a temple, which was shut for renovations. Forty-five minutes wasted out of the 6.5 hr tour. I think about 1 hr was good and that was the flower market our guide took us to after tea. I think he felt bad about how the day went, through no fault of his. I would think long and hard before booking another insipid tour in Bangkok.

This was a really great tour. As it turned out I was the only person booked on the day, which was a bonus. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and the Cantonese dinner was amazing.

There is shopping everywhere. You really don't need a guide for this adventure.
