Bangkok Gardens and Canals Bike Tour
Bangkok, Thailand
This 5-hour bike tour in Bangkok takes you cycling through old communities to observe the local culture and way of life. Have lunch at Taling Chan floating market, one of the most renowned floating markets in Bangkok. See the sights along the canals and ride a long-tail boat on the river to view another side of Bangkok.
Meet your guide in the morning at a bike shop near Khao San Road. After a quick bike fitting and safety briefing, start your tour by cycling through some of the capital's oldest communities and visit parts of town most tourists never see. Cycle alongside canals while your guide explains the importance of Thai waterways since ancient times; you'll see why Bangkok was called the 'Venice of the East.'
During the 5-hour ride, you'll pedal about 18.6 miles (30 km) on flat, quiet city roads and lanes, passing by temples, gardens, and coconut plantations. Stop for lunch at Taling Chan floating market, just a few miles outside the city yet still authentically local. It's a charming place to spend some time and a wonderful spot to eat Thai food.
Afterward, take a trip by long-tail boat down the river for another perspective of Bangkok. From the pier you'll then cycle back to your starting point.
The family-friendly tour provides infant seats and bike trailers for kids upon request.
