Bangkok Small-Group Bike Tour

Bangkok, Thailand

Get off the beaten track and explore Bangkok as you cycle through lane ways, past markets, traditional houses, canals and temples.

Discover idyllic pockets of Bangkok with an easy 20 km (12.5 miles) bike ride through this vibrant city. See some of Bangkok's most famous sights including the Bangkok Noi Canal, Memorial Bridge, Wat Suthat temple and Wat Arun temple, one of the most famous landmarks of Bangkok.

Meet the locals and get an insight into an area of Bangkok that few tourist know about on this adventurous Bangkok bike tour.

Make your way to the lobby of the Nouvo City Hotel, Samsen Road, Banglamphu to meet your guide. You'll travel together by taxi or minivan to the starting point of this exciting tour. After a quick bike fitting and briefing you'll head out near Khao San Road in Banglamphu.

Your gentle 20 km (12.5 miles) morning bike ride travels through Bangkok Noi, the heart and soul of Bangkok. Across the Chao Praya River to the Thonburi side of Bangkok, this area has its own unique style of waterways and small roads. The old Bangkok Noi community has been established since King Chai Raja of Ayutthaya Period (AD 1532 - 1546). Bangkok Noi Canal which was once a part of the majestic Chao Phraya River flows in a horseshoe shape through the old Bangkok Noi community.

Wind your way through the back streets of Suburban Bangkok and small laneways along the riverside. You'll cross the famous Rama VIII Bridge then ride through a local community who are well known for producing 'Maak', an addictive mixture of betel nut, lime and mulberry leaf.

You'll pass the King's Royal Barges and ride along The Bangkok Noi Canal which eventually leads you to the spectacular Wat Arun, one of Bangkok's iconic landmarks. From Wat Arun you'll head back across the Chao Praya River to Pranakorn via the Memorial Bridge. This bridge was built in 1929 to mark the city of Bangkok's 150th anniversary.

You'll visit Wat Suthat temple, which is home to a 25-foot tall Buddha. Your final stop is opposite Wat Suthat to see the red frame giant swing which represents the movement of the God Shiva which was reserved for performances at grand ceremonies.

Your guide can assist you in getting a taxi back to your hotel if needed.

Guide was very knowledgeable and accomodating. We avoided any main roads for the most part which was good. Got to see more of the Bangkok locals lifestyle which was great too.

Although it started late, the tour was challenging, fun and allowed me to see a side of Bangkok that I never thought I would see.

This is the way to see Bangkok and hear histories about back alleys, neighborhoods, and the city itself. We had a blast.

We had the BEST time with our guide Jackie on this tour! We believe that bike tours are the best way to see new cities and this one did not disappoint. While the Temple of Dawn was amazing to see and was definitely on my list, the non-touristy parts of the tour, through the canal neighborhoods in Thonburi was the highlight of our short trip to Bangkok for sure. Do it!

Excellent tour of Bangkok. Only thing I would have liked is if it were longer. Maybe an all day tour

Kenny G was a great tour guide. We had him all to ourselves. The tour was meant to start at 9 and we confirmed this time before leaving our hotel. We had to ring and ask where they were at 9.20! Once we started though we saw lots of Bangkok's hidden gems and back alleys. Enjoyed riding through the flower and vege market. Kenny kept us safe and informed of his rules and signals when riding the busy streets. Great fun and he also helped us find a nice place for lunch and a good massage afterwards.

We did this tour while on our honeymoon December 2015 and had a great time! The tour takes you through areas you would usually never think to go as well as to the major tourist destinations, so you get a real feel for the different sides of Bangkok. Our guide was really friendly and knowledgeable, he was very considerate of my wife who hasn't spent a lot of time on a bike. And there were tasty treats along the way! We would definitely recommend this tour.

Great tour, amazing guide. Got to see a different side of Bangkok. Even though it was stinky hot our guide kept us out of the sun when we stopped and made sure we had water as well.

I was the only person on this small group tour which was a terrific experience. My guide J was super friendly and very knowledgable about BKK and Thai culture. As others have said, this is a very interesting, back alley ride. You see things most tourists would never find on their own. Some of the route is very narrow, blind corners, animals in the way, all adding to the unique experience. If you are looking for things to do in BKK that are out of the ordinary, this is definitely up on the list. I would also suggest taking the morning ride I did as the heat and traffic of the afternoon may not be as pleasant.

We had a great time on our tour with Woody! We explored cool parts of New and Old Bangkok that I wouldn't have ever seen. He was very knowledgable about the deep history and current state of affairs of all of the place we visited and saw. We also stopped frequently along the way to sample some tasty foods and drinks and learn how they were made. It was pretty warm outside, but the ride was easy enough that it wasn't an issue. Woody even went above and beyond and walked us to our next event after our tour was over.

We end up getting a private tour and it was great. Good bikes, helmets and easy ride. The tour guide could of been more informative but he was nice and polite.

I had an absolute ball cycling through Bangkok with my lovely young lady guide whose name I unfortunately cannot recall. It was hot but she made sure I had plenty of fluids and even bought me cold drinks and local ice-cream. She took me through narrow lanes, along the canals, to the religious sites and the markets. I would highly recommend this tour. The traffic is busy but I did not feel that I was at any particular risk.

Talking about the tour operator, guide, etc: everything was very nice, except one small thing, even though I confirmed the booking just a day before on the phone, they did not mention that the meeting point was changed. When we went to the meeting point, we found a sign pointing to the new location, which was exactly in the direction we came from._br/_ The tour itself: it was very nice, we saw things we wouldn't have seen otherwise. BUT: it you cycled only on nice bike lanes before, expect something radically different. We crossed some traffic sometimes, it can be scary, but I don't think it is dangerous. Just make sure you are confident on the bike. There are some narrow roads and steep turns.

It were a very different way to explore Bangkok. We saw areas of Bangkok we else would not have seen. But the guide was not good. His english was bad, he spoke very low, so it was very difficult to hear what he was saying and to understand him. He did not care about his group could follow him when cycling. Fortunately we had a very, very good guide at the end of the row. She spoke a very good english and she did take care of the hole group! Wonder why she isn't the leader of the tours??? I absoluetly recommend her to be!

We had a pleasant Saturday morning ride over bridges and through the back lanes of Bangkok. Our guide was excellent and spoke excellent English. We had a couple on our tour who were unable to continue after we were about half way due to health problems and our guide helped them with finding a taxi back to their hotel before we continued on. A great way to see Bangkok in a different light.

This is a great tour, you are taken through some back alleys and small streets of bangkok. Guide was fun and helpful. Bike ride is not exhausting by any means. Great way to incorporate some physical activity to a vacation while enjoying the scenery.

Great tour! Shows you hidden passages throughout bangkok. The guide had a great knowledge of the back streets where regular tours would never be able to show, the bike ride itself is not easiest however it's relatively flat which makes in tolerable. After 3 hrs you will feel good!

It was a really great way to see Bangkok when we had just arrived. Tour guide was great and the ride wasn't too hard although at times we had to ride through very narrow roads/footpaths.

This was the highlight of my Bangkok experience. I was the only person on the tour that day (appreciated that we still carried on instead of it being cancelled!). My guide, Jackie, had a great bubbly personality, and he was very watchful of me, making sure I was staying with him. We wound through back streets and along canals, seeing everyday people going about their lives. I had just the right amount of time at Wat Arun, and we stopped at another, less-touristy temple to see Bangkok's largest seated Buddha, too. Loved this experience!

We took this tour on 28 August 2013. The tour was fantastic. We went through back streets, ally ways and markets. It was really a great way to see the local Bangkok away from tourists!

Even though it was raining the ground covered in old Bangkok was great. The only thing that let the tour down was that the tour guides grasp of English could have been better.

I was the only candidate.....I really enjoyed it. It was quite challenging, but I imagine with a group we may have gone slower. I found it a great way to see the real Bangkok and get some fun exercise at the same time.

We had a lovely time on this tour. With only 4 people plus the guide it was great to not have to share the guide with to many people. The small alley ways that we went down within the local housing was fascinating and all the people were so friendly when we went past. The different aspects of Bangkok we covered was extensive and the scenery/views were fabulous. Highly recommended to not only tourists but expats as well.

Sehr empfehlenswert - netter, gebildeter Reiseleiter - Mr. Kong. Man sieht verborgene Ecken von Bangkok, etwas abseits vom Massentourismus. Schade dass auf Viator nicht mehr Touren von diesem Anbieter angeboten werden. Er bietet noch andere Touren an, die auch interessant klingen. Bangkok by bike - mal etwas anderes!

I did not regret booking this tour. The guide took me through lots of narrow streets in the old part of Bangkok, places I'd never have seen on my own. At the end of the tour, he even advised me to take the boat on the Chao Phraya instead of paying a cab, which was very helpful!

A great experience. For two fifty something year olds who are not particularly fit, this tour was a bit daunting. However, our guide Jackie, made it an easy and enjoyable experience and we did the 20km easily.

One of the best things we did in Thailand. I highly rate this. You cruise through the back streets seeing what the other side of Bangkok looks like. -1 star for 'lunch included', but all you get is one snack.

Our bike tour around Bangkok was excellent, the guide was very good and we had a wonderful time. It happened to be very convenient for us as there was only the two of us and the guide but we both had a wonderful time and saw parts of Bangkok that we wouldn't have unless we did the bike tour, we have been to Bangkok many times and seen all the sites so this was definitely a bonus tour
