Colors of Damnoen Saduak from Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand

Our Colors of Damnoen Saduak cycling tour is a relaxed bicycle ride from Damnoen Saduak floating market through Amphawa district.
The tour starts with a long tail boat trip and a visit to the most famous floating market in Thailand.

Once back on land we continue our ride through pleasant and shady trail taking us past typical Thai houses, temples, and agricultural villages. We stop at a cozy riverside restaurant to enjoy a delicious Amphawa lunch.

Colors of Damnoen Saduak is a relaxed bicycle ride from Damnoen Saduak floating market through Amphawa district. The transfer from our office to Damnoen Saduak floating market, is in a fully equipped air-conditioned car/minivan, taking about 1-1.5 hours.

At Damnoen Saduak we start with a long-tail boat ride through a maze of canals cutting through local villages and plantations and you will be able to see how the locals live here. After we’ve visited Damnoen Saduak floating market, our bicycles are waiting for us to continue this adventure.

We ride along quiet country back roads, plantation trails and unpaved flat roads. Depending on the season, we’ll see grapes, lychee, pomelo and coconuts growing in trees and plants, ready to be harvested. Besides the overwhelming nature along the Mae Klong River delta there are a few beautiful temples we would like to show you and tell you more about. We visit a coconut plantation where they make palm and coconut sugar in a traditional Thai way.

We then head to “Wat Bang Kung”, which dates out of the Ayutthaya period and is more than 500 years old. It is famous for a small chapel that is completely enclosed within the roots of a banyan tree, called Bot Prok Po. It’s like the tree itself is the pillar of the temple and without it will fall. This is an amazing sight.

“Wat Bang Kae Noi”, built in 1868, inside is covered with wood carving depicting the life of Buddha. Three life sized wax statues of famous Thai monks complete this remarkable temple.

The ride continues over small wooden bridges hanging over canals along the Mae Klong River until reaching the ferry to cross us to the Amphawa market. Here you will have a chance to stroll the local market and/or visit King Rama II park before heading back to Bangkok by car/minivan.
