Countryside Bike Tour Including Floating Markets and Canal Boat Ride

Explore the countryside outside Bangkok on a full-day bike tour, pedaling between two floating markets — Tha Kha and Damnoen Saduak. After a canal boat ride and coconut sugar tasting, you’ll ride along the banks of the Mae Khlong River and stop for a riverside lunch. Then continue through coconut and other fruit plantations to Wat Bang Kung, an Ayutthaya-era temple covered by a large banyan tree. Hotel pickup and drop-off with transport from Bangkok is included on this guided tour.

Meet your experienced guide upon hotel pickup in Bangkok, and begin your full-day tour with a drive to Tha Kha Floating Market, located 37 miles (60 km) outside the city. Take a boat ride through the canal, stopping at a local home that makes coconut sugar the old-fashioned way.
Return to the market by boat with your guide, and enjoy the opportunity to stroll around for a bit of browsing before departing by bicycle. Once you’re fitted with your bike and helmet, pedal through the countryside to the second floating market of the day, Damnoen Saduak, where you can stand on a bridge and observe the variety of goods being sold from the boats.
Then continue riding along the banks of the Mae Khlong River, and stop for a sumptuous riverside lunch at a first-rate Thai restaurant. In the afternoon, cycle through coconut plantations and orchards with many varieties of tropical fruit. Along the way, you’ll visit Wat Bang Kung, a temple dating back to the Ayutthaya period, now overgrown with the roots of a banyan tree.
From here, pedal with your guide to the preserved heritage market of Amphawa. Leaving your bike with the driver, take a walk through the market along the canal before returning to Bangkok in your tour vehicle for hotel drop-off.

The mild bike route includes flat terrain, small roads and easy trails, some of which are dirt. The day's total biking distance is 26 miles (42 km), and the pace is leisurely. A support vehicle is on hand at all times so you can take a break if you get tired.

I had a great overall experience and enjoyed the day trip with my mother who was visiting me in thailand . The best part of the trip is the first part when you arrive at the smaller market and you get a chance to experience a local floating market which is strictly with locals and then jump on a long tail boat to cruise the river along the banana and coconut plantations.
