Bangkok, Thailand
Get a close-up look at local life via public transportation during this half-day sightseeing tour of Bangkok. With your guide, you'll discover another side to the city at bustling markets and temples, including the UNESCO-awarded Wat Prayoon. Admire the view of the Chao Phraya River, the biggest waterway in Bangkok.
Meet your guide at your centrally located hotel and set out to discover Bangkok. Travel by Skytrain to the Chao Phraya River and board a public taxi boat for a ride to a flower and vegetable wholesale market. Then walk across the river via Memorial Bridge and visit Wat Prayoon, an awe-inspiring temple that received an Award of Excellence in the 2013 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
A short walk along the riverbank takes you to the Church of Santa Cruz, built in 1770 during the reign on King Taksin. Close by it stands Kuan An Keng, a Chinese shrine of intricate woodcarvings and mural paintings. Crossing the Yai Canal on foot, you'll continue on to Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) for a look at the photogenic site.
At the end of your 5-hour morning or afternoon excursion, you'll return to your hotel by public taxi boat and Skytrain.
