Half-Day Private Tour of the Bangkok Canals
Bangkok, Thailand
Book this half-day tour to enjoy a morning’s river cruise along the bustling river and quiet backwaters in a typical Thai boat while you enjoy the views of life in the canals. This boat trip will give you a taste of the traditional way of life, a world away from the high modern buildings of the center of Bangkok while you sail around the residential area of Thon Buri. You will see many landmarks around the area, such as the Dawn Temple (Wat Arun) one of the first temples to be built in the city. This temple is renowned as a symbol of both the city and the country, and is famous for its towers decorated with porcelain.
Your tour will start around 9am from your Bankok city hotel with you being picked up by your English-speaking guide. The first stop will be the Pak Khlong Talat (Flower Market), a huge wholesale market for product and flowers. There will be numerous flower stalls along Maharat Road, and the market is near the Memorial Bridge where you will be able to see the business of the morning market.
Afterwards, you'll be able to relax on the Chao Phraya River and Thonburi canals in a comfortable long-tail motor boat. On this relaxing ride, you will be treated to the beautiful scenery of Thai life along the riverbanks. Locals still transport many things by water, and you may ride beside them while they're bringing wares to market. From the river, you will be able to see the Grand Palace's beautiful buildings as well as temples such as Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn).
Finally, you will be able to stroll down Ratchadumnoen Road (Royal Way) for some city sightseeing. Along this road are numerous famous monuments and landmarks, such as the Parliament Hall, Ananta Samakhom Palace, and the Chitralada Palace.
The tour will end around 12pm where you will be transferred back to your hotel.
