This private tour brings you to the beautiful Amphawa district, just about an hour outside of Bangkok’s busy city center. Amphawa is known as the place local Thai citizens go to escape the busy city life Bangkok and to fully relax in a peaceful environment. Your local host Romain will take you on a private excursion to this beautiful area to show you true local life outside of Bangkok.

Having been living & working as a professional guide in Bangkok for over more than 8 years, Romain perfectly knows where to find the must-see places and  hidden gems outside the crowded city. During this tour he will bring you to amazing locations such as the Amphawa Floating market, the Samut Songkhram market and Wat Bang Kung, a famous temple within a tree. We also join a boat tour on the Mae Klong River to experience the peaceful scenery like the locals do.

The complete schedule for the day is as follows:

9am - Pick up at your Hotel in Bangkok 
10.30am - Drive through salt marsh area 
11.15am - Boat ride by the sea to get a closer look in the mangrove, passing by fishing village, observing monkeys 
12.30pm - Lunch (not included)
2.30pm - Visit Railway Market of Samut Songkhram 
3pm - Drive through the coconut plantation
3.15pm - Visit Wat Bang Kung
3.45pm - Arrive at Amphawa and enjoy the boat tour on Mae Klong river
4.45pm - Walk around the Floating Market
6pm - Depart back to Bangkok

Great tour, great guide. Off-the beaten track, we saw very interesting places outside Bangkok, which were not over-run by tourists. Especially the train-market is a highlight by itself - you must see, what's happening, when the train passes through the market! We also were impressed by the Wat Bang Kung, a temple with a growing tree - reminding on the famous temples of Angkor captured by the roots of giant trees.

Great tour. The train time had moved from 1:30 to 2:30, and to ensure we got to see the market pack up as the train went by, he was dynamic with his change in plans so we wouldn't miss anything. Moreover, when we were shopping at the market, he was kind to let us take our time. He was also intelligent, well informed, and insightful when answering our questions or explaining things to us.
