After being picked up from your Bangkok hotel around 8am, set out on the scenic drive north to Suphanburi province, around 110km outside of the Thai capital.

Accompanied by your private guide, learn more about the rich history and heritage of Suphanburi town, a border town that featured in some of the most important battle of the Ayutthaya kingdom. Continue through the countryside, stopping to explore local farming communities and visit a traditional buffalo village, where you can watch locals training and working the buffaloes in the rice paddies. Take the opportunity to peek inside a typical Thai house, watch traditional farming techniques in action, or perhaps enjoy one of the processions or dance performances that often take place in the villages. 

After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, pay a visit to some of the region's historic highlights, including the over 300-year-old Baan Krang Temple and the Pang Muang Chapel. On the way back to Bangkok, stop at the Don Chedi Memorial, one of the most famous ancient battle sites in Thai history. It was here that King Naresuan, then a prince, defeated the prince of Myanma on elephant in the late 16th century and consequently freed Ayutthaya from the Bago (Pegu) kingdom. 

Arrive back in Bangkok around 5.30pm, where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
