Shore Excursion: Canals of Bangkok from Laem Chabang

Bangkok, Thailand

Taste traditional Thai culinary with stunning views at a charming riverside eatery. Experience a traditional Thai long tail boat! During journey cruise along a small waterway, called a klong, enjoy mesmerizing views of local life along the banks en route to a riverside artisan village. Visit the Royal Barge Museum. Finish with a visit to Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn).

Your guide will meet you at Laem Chabang Port at 9am. From here, you will travel approximately 2-hours to Bangkok.

Your exploration of Bangkok’s cultural gems begins with the Supattra River House Restaurant, a charming riverside eatery that blends traditional Thai culinary culture with stunning views. Sit down for a scrumptious Thai set lunch here before continuing onward, this time swapping your car for a traditional Thai longtail boat! During journey cruise along a small waterway, called a klong, enjoy mesmerizing views of local life along the banks en route to a riverside artisan village. This tucked-away village is built within wooden structures once a common sight throughout Bangkok’s klongs - most of which are now replaced by concrete buildings.

On land, set off on a guided wander to see the village’s collection of art, crafted by the talented locals living here. After some ample time to explore, hop back on your longtail boat and continue toward the Royal Barge Museum, home to a fascinating collection historical barges dating back centuries! These massive boats were once rowed by as many as 2000 rowers. The museum’s crown jewel is the Suphannahong Royal Barge, a behemoth 45-meter vessel built in 1911.

Back on the water, sit back and relax onboard your longtail boat and arrive soon at Wat Arun on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Known as the ‘Temple of Dawn’, Wat Arun is an icon of historic Bangkok, and boasts colorful spires and commanding views over the water.

This marks the end of your journey, and your vehicle will pick you up from here and return you to Laem Chabang Port.
