Market Tour Thai Home Cooking Lesson and Lunch

Travel by tuk-tuk through Bangkok's narrow lanes after a visit to a local market and head to the spacious family home of a local chef. Learn to cook an authentic Thai meal using ingredients you picked up at the market. Then enjoy classic Thai dishes that you helped prepare with your personal instructor.

In the morning, meet your host at the centrally located Wongwian Yai BTS station in Bangkok's Sukhumvit neighborhood. You'll walk together to the market for a private tour, followed by an in-home cooking class and dining experience. 

At the market, get an introduction to Thai fruits and vegetables and select fresh produce for the day’s meal. After you’ve checked off all the items on the shopping list, hop in a tuk-tuk to your host's family home located deep within a maze of narrow sois, or lanes, typical in this part of the city. 

You'll cook together in the kitchen while you learn to prepare an authentic Thai lunch. Specialties may include larb (minced chicken or pork flavored with lime juice, dill, coriander, mint, chili, and other fresh herbs picked in the garden), tom ka gai (chicken soup simmered in coconut milk with mushrooms, galangal, and lemongrass), kai giaw gung (Thai-style egg omelet with fresh shrimp), pad Thai (stir-fried rice noodles with fresh prawns in sweet-and-sour tamarind sauce), gai pad med ma muuang (stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts), panaeng gai (chicken simmered in panaeng curry sauce), and gai thood ta khrai (fried chicken wings with fragrant fried lemongrass).
