Barbados Catamaran Snorkeling Cruise

Barbados Catamaran Snorkeling Cruise

Barbados, Barbados

Take a fun and relaxing catamaran cruise along the west coast of Barbados! On board a spacious schooner, sail to two or three different snorkeling spots, where you’ll see a shipwreck and swim in the clear Caribbean with sea turtles and colorful fish. A light breakfast snack and unlimited beverages are provided. Choose between two options — a 3-hour cruise that’s great for families with small children, or a 5-hour cruise that includes lunch.

After hotel pickup, head to the marina in Bridgetown to board your catamaran, El Tigre, a 60-foot-long (18-meter) and 24-foot-wide (7-meter) schooner that’s big enough to carry 50 passengers but is limited to 36 per cruise to provide more space. The boat offers both shady and uncovered areas so you can choose to sit wherever you’ll be more comfortable.

Pull out of the marina and head along the west coast of Barbados, enjoying the sea breeze on your face and admiring the picturesque coastline. While you sail, just relax, sipping a cup of coffee or a glass of juice, rum punch or beer, and enjoy a slice of coconut bread.

Make your way to your first snorkeling spot, where you should be able to see sea turtles. Spend 45 minutes snorkeling, and then hop back on board the boat to sail to your second snorkeling location, a shipwreck that has become a habitat for many tropical fish. You have another 45 minutes to snorkel here.

If you’ve chosen the 3-hour option, you’ll then be dropped off at a west coast beach, where your cruise ends. Your transportation will be waiting for you at this beach to return to your hotel.

If you’ve selected the 5-hour option, continue along the west coast to a third location, where you’ll stop to enjoy lunch on board the boat. Then hop in the water to cool off, swimming up to the nearby beach, if you wish, for a stroll along the sand. Back on board, enjoy a cocktail and listen to soca — a style of Caribbean calypso music — while the boat returns you to the marina in Bridgetown, where your cruise ends.

Unlimited drinks (soda, beer and rum punch) are provided on both cruise options.

Very friendly and helpful crew. Great food homemade bread. Saw plenty of fish and turtles. Very little current so stayed in one area and could always get back on the boat whenever. It was good being able to sit inside the cabin as well as out on the deck. Actually sailed for most of the tour. Met us on the dock by our cruise ship and brought us back in plenty of time.

Recently spent a week in Barbados. Weather was fabulous all week. Except for the day we took this cruise. But the guys on the Tigre were a blast and made sure we all had fun with the snorkeling and swimming. Lunch was very good as well. No shortage of very good rum punch which contributed to dancing on the deck. Met a couple of very lively girls from across the pond who contributed to the antics and made sure our trip made the morning papers.

The tour itself was very good! We chose the 5 hour tour with lunch included. The food and service was excellent and unlimited drinks were included so that is never a bad thing in the islands! What made the trip the best was the crew, they were upbeat, friendly and tons of fun! We were on our honeymoon so it was a great way to spend the day. The only downside and it's not their fault was there were several other snorkeling cruises and snorkelers who descended at the same time at the one location with the turtles. We weren't able to see any turtles which I really wanted to see because there were 100 people kicking in the water and swirling sand around so we couldn't see anything. I swam back to the boat after getting kicked by several swimmers and gave up._br/_ That was the only downside and again, not their fault. After lunch we were able to just jump off the boat and enjoy the water and snorkel around before heading back. All in all a very nice day with a great company who hires wonderful people. Highly recommended!

A great tour for water lovers. The catamaran crew were amazing, Maureen made everyone feel relaxed and welcomed once on board. There was free flowing drinks for everyone alcohol and non alcohol alike. For the time on this tour we were all family, very friendly interaction between guests and crew. Food on board was amazing and plenty to go around. We were taken to an area where the turtles_br/_ had been seen, which was remarkable given that the recent bad weather had sent many of these territorial creatures from their familiar waters. We also saw a sunken wreck and did some snorkeling, where the fish were eager for a free feed of bread and cake crumbs - a mini feeding frenzy. The one thing thing that tainted the whole experience was a close encounter with the regional fire coral. It truly lives up to it's name as my husband found out by brushing against it with his arm and right hip whilst snorkeling. It burns and whelps up like the sting of a jelly fish. It would have been helpful to have known about this before we entered the water and went snorkeling. It wasn't until he sought help from the crew that they informed us to be very careful.....a bit too late for my husband who is stilling having issues with it, now three weeks later. All this aside a great snorkeling with a great crew.

The 3-hour cruise was very fun as the staff were very bubbly and funny (especially Kevin). It was a great experience snorkeling, seeing the beautiful turtles and Island. Plenty of Rum and Coconut juice to go round. I would recommend this cruise when visiting Barbados.

One of my trip's highlights. I wasn't staying at a major hotel, but the company went out of their way to pick me up from one in my neighborhood and take me back directly to my Airbnb. The cruise captain and staff were SO personable and attentive. Add the wonderful weather and guests and it made for a great day. Definitely do the 5 hour cruise. The lunch was DELICIOUS!

We had an awesome time on our catamaran snorkeling cruise. We were picked up and dropped off near our accommodation, which was a bonus. The check-in process was easy and quick. As soon as we got on the boat, we were offered free drinks and banana bread. The crew was professional, fun, friendly, and knowledgable about the coastline and ocean life. The conditions were perfect for snorkeling. Overall, we felt safe and excited about the entire trip! We recommend this company 100.

The crew went above and beyond to make the cruise outstanding. We started off snorkeling with sea turtles, which get so close you can almost touch them, then off to two shipwrecks which are teeming with marine life. After that, a delicious hot lunch and freely flowing drinks. The entire crew was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The entire experience was amazing.

Good experience. The crew was very helpful and high-spirited, we got to see everything that was advertised, and the food on board was surprisingly good. My wife thought the flying fish they served was as good as any we had anywhere during the trip. They also were not stingy with the drinks -- they were pushing them the entire time.

I arrived by Carnival Cruise. I booked the 3 hour tour with the El Tigre a few weeks before leaving the United States. I really enjoyed my catamaran sailing. They picked me up from the cruise port. I was worried when I arrived at the cruise port gate because they were not there at the time they said they were going to be there. I waited about 35 minutes for a pickup. I even had someone call them. I was the only one from the cruise that day taking the Catamaran tour, however, El Tigre had other hotel customers already on the catamaran boat when I arrived. There was approximately 15 customers on the boat. Rum drinks and other alcoholic drinks were available. Also, some delicious type of bread and coffee. We were able to swim with several beautiful turtles and fish. Sunken ship and coral was okay not exciting. Turtles were awesome! I wanted to go to Carlisle beach after the tour and the driver took me to Carlisle beach AFTER dropping off all the hotel passengers. It took about 45 minutes to 1 hour to get to Carlisle beach after dropping off all hotel passengers. My only recommendation is that if you are a cruise passenger and you do the 3 hour tour take a taxi to your desired beach if you are not going straight to the Cruise port. I waited awhile before being dropped at Carlisle beach and you know cruise ships do NOT wait when they say be on board by 4:30pm, so I was only able to get about 1.5 hours at Carlisle beach, which is a shame because Carlisle beach was awesome!

AMAZING. I was worried about how if it would be an enjoyable experience when I first booked it but without a doubt I would do this again if given the chance. My father and I joined the 5 hour snorkeling cruise where every second was worth it. My father gets seasick easily and forgot to bring Dramamine, luckily the crew supplied seasick pills. The crew was great, they were lively and made it a point for us to have a good time. We were picked up at our hotel and brought in for check in which was very smooth. When we got on the catamaran we took off our shoes and from there we simply sat back and relaxed. We were able to see MANY sea turtles I recommend using the floats they provide because the current was strong. When we snorkeled near the reef we saw many types of fish close up. It was a great experience. When the catamaran was anchored for lunch we were served on the boat had time to swim around. The cruise is family friendly, in our group there were both elderly and young couples, families with young children, families with teenagers and small families as well.

This was amazing. Everything they promised was delivered and more. Maureen's extra motivation to go snorkeling for the first time is a lifetime memory I will have. The food was excellent, the staff were so genuinely friendly and helpful! This is not a party cruise so very family oriented and relaxing! I loved it!

One word Excellent. Best excursion that we did on our 14 day tour. Hospitality was beyond words and the boat which is approved for 50 people is normally limited to 25 people which made the day. Food was excellent and the variety of drinks surprising. The staff were very kind and very professional. Highly recommend.

The crew were excellent, continually offering refreshments and pointing out places of interest. Lunch was very tasty, loads of drinks from coffee to soft drinks to alcohol. I'm not a great swimmer and lacked confidence in the water. I was given lots of help and assigned one on one guide to help me learn to snorkel and guide me whilst in the water. I had the time of my life and can't thank the crew enough, what a day. Highly recommended.

This was the best day! We did the 5 hour trip with lunch - definitely worth it! The food was so great and the swimming stop was tons of fun. The guides were more than attentive and answered all our questions. They were very helpful throughout the whole trip. We saw so many beautiful things at both the shipwreck and sea turtle stop. One of the people who was also on our boat had done the same tour every time they had gone to Barbados! There is a following! Had so much fun!
