See a part of Barbados that many visitors miss on this Segway tour along the northeastern coast of the island. With your own off-road Segway, you'll glide over rugged terrain and admire the scenic, unspoiled landscape of coastal cliffs and tropical fields. Pause for photos on the beach and watch for native animals like blackbelly sheep. Rum punch is included at the end of the tour.
After pickup, head to the Segway base near Little Bay in the parish of St Lucy, the northernmost parish on the island of Barbados (and — fun fact — the only one to be named for a female). After being fitted with a helmet, hop on your Segway and take some practice turns during an orientation and safety session.
When everyone is comfortable, take off with your guide, easily traversing the rugged, rocky and sometimes muddy terrain on your off-road Segway. Travel over the cliff tops of the northeast coast, zoom across lush pastures and under coconut trees, and stop to admire the spectacular coastline. Keep your eyes open for cows and indigenous blackbelly sheep, and feel the spray of water coming off the Atlantic surf.
The purpose of this Segway tour is to be out in the great outdoors and soak up the natural beauty of the island — you won’t see historical or cultural monuments, but you will enjoy fabulous photo ops and bragging rights for getting off the beaten path of this popular Caribbean isle.
Your tour ends with a rewarding glass of rum punch before you're taken back to your pickup point.
a really fun, unusual way of seeing some of the island. We drove about 45 minutes from Bridgetown to St Lucy to meet the Segway team. a safety brief and away you go with guide/s. If you have a go-pro the helmets fit so you can video the scenic parts but the team are happy to take photos - we recommend this tour.
