Barbados Scenic Tour Including Bathsheba Sunbury Plantation
Barbados, Barbados
Explore Barbados from top to bottom on this half-day coach tour that takes you on a scenic drive along all four coasts. Marvel at the expensive homes and luxury resorts along the west coast; see the cliffs of the northern end; stop in the Atlantic-side village of Bathsheba; and drive through the fishing village of Oistins on the southern shore. The historical highlight of your tour is the 17th-century Sunbury Plantation House, where you’ll enjoy a buffet lunch and a tour of the mansion. Hotel transport with guided commentary is included.
After hotel pickup, your island tour starts with a drive along Barbados’ west coast, a tony stretch of luxury homes and resorts with gorgeous views of the calm turquoise Caribbean.
Reaching the northern tip of the island, hop out of your comfortable coach to watch big waves crash against the rugged cliffs before continuing south along Barbados’ eastern side — the Atlantic coast. Stop in the surfing and fishing village of Bathsheba to snap photos and enjoy the picturesque scene while sipping a glass of rum punch.
Next, your guide takes you to visit St John’s Church, a Gothic-style church built in 1836 to replace the old church, which was destroyed in an 1831 hurricane. Enjoy another photo op and browse local crafts made by the vendors who’ve set up shop here before making the drive to your last stop, Sunbury Plantation House, set in the countryside of St Philip Parish.
Built around 1660 by one of the first British settlers on Barbados, Sunbury Plantation House provides a detailed look at the lavish ways the island’s sugar-trading families lived in the 18th and 19th centuries. Enjoy a buffet lunch and some ‘planters punch’ at the house, and then take a guided tour to see its impressive collection of antiques, period clothing and farming equipment.
After a drive along Barbados’ southern coast, passing through the fishing town of Oistins, your tour comes to an end with hotel drop-off.
Fabulous around the island tour stopping off many times to take photographs. A good way to get a rounded flavour of Barbados, Eddie our driver guide was great.

My first time to Barbados. It was great seeing the country side and the areas of Barbados that were not the big tourist attractions. The tour guide was moderately informative. I think we stayed too long at the Plantation.

The tour was OK. I would not recommend this tour as it was at the last minute changed on us. First a date change. Then the transportation was not what was described on line. The tour guide actually was a random taxi driver in a beat up old van.

This was a fantastic compact tour - we saw the entire island in a little over half a day and had a marvelous lunch as well. We saw Cherry Hill, the cliffs near the Animal Flower cave, the classy west coast with the fancy houses, the St James Church, the St John's Church, Bathsheba, and the Sunbury Plantation (lunch was amazing). And our guide kindly dropped us off at the airport afterwards, carefully watching the time so we made it on time. He was very thoughtful and made sure that we saw all that we could in a short time. Great tour!

One day soon the details of our experience will be shared... all I can suggest for other customers is to either book tours through the hotel where you're staying OR via direct contact with the local tour company in the country of interest (in this case Barbados).
