8-Day Spain Tour Including Barcelona, Madrid, Cordoba, Seville, Granada and Toledo

Barcelona, Spain

Discover beautiful Barcelona, UNESCO World Heritage-listed Toledo and the highlights of Spain’s Andalusia region on this 8-day tour. Spend two days exploring Barcelona at your own pace; then, ride a high-speed train to Madrid. Explore the cities of Seville, Cordoba and Granada, and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Granada’s Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens. You’ll enjoy seven overnight stays in 3- or 4-star hotels as well as several guided tours and round-trip transportation by deluxe coach.

After pickup from the Barcelona airport, spend two days in Barcelona at your own pace tasting tapas in the city’s Gothic Quarter, and admiring Antoni Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia and Park Guell.

Then, ride the high-speed train to Madrid for a sightseeing tour and free time to explore on your own. Saunter down Gran Via with its shops and restaurants, see the La Cibeles statue, and explore Plaza de Espana. After your time in Madrid, travel through legendary Don Quixote country to Cordoba, where a city tour will reveal Cordoba’s medieval courtyards, winding alleys and mix of Jewish and Arab cultures.

On the same day, continue to Seville, on the Guadalquivir River, where you’ll see Seville Cathedral, the Maria Luisa Gardens and the colorful Santa Cruz Quarter. Continue your journey to Granada, renowned for the amazing architecture of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Alhambra Palace and its Generalife Gardens.

The last stop on your 8-day tour before returning to Madrid is Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage City where Christian, Jewish and Moorish cultures combine.

Your tour includes round-trip transportation by deluxe coach, six nights of accommodation in 3- to 4-star hotels and guided visits to many attractions. Daily breakfasts and some dinners are included, and for lunch, your guide can recommend great places in the city for you to eat (own expense). The 8 day Spain tour was great. but booking through Viator was not. Viator did not give our arrival flight to the local agent Julia Travel so therefore when we arrived at the airport after travelling 12 hours, we didnt receive a airport transfer. Viator is very hard to communicate with, you have to ask them several times for infirmation. Julia travel was great, I would reccommend the tour! Our guide Margarita was great, very informative!

A trip of a lifetime with my daughter. We visited so many places that will be etched in my heart for years. Wish we could have spent more time in some of the places but overall it was a great experience.

Poor administration/coordination by the 3rd party contractor, Julia Travel. On the first day, we were picked up from the airport, dropped off at our hotel, and that was it. No notification nor communication as to the scheduled of activities for that day nor subsequent days of the tour. Decided to call Julia Travel first thing in the morning the following day but have to wait for an hour since their office starts at 8AM. Finally got connected past 8AM and we're told to rush to the city center office to join the City Tour at 8:45AM and get our itinerary. Took a quick taxi ride and paid the driver 10 euros. Were told to join the City Tour and the itinerary will be handed over right after. When the tour ended, we could have spent the time sightseeing and shopping since we have the rest of the day free. Instead, we have to take a long walk to the office for the copy of the itinerary. Still it wasn't ready when we got there. Our record was somehow lost or misplaced. When finally found, we were given a copy of the tour contract and were told to pick up the itinerary from the tour guide in Madrid. No apologies given to us for the inconveniences nor compensation for the 10 euros spent on taxi fare.

Had a time of our life in this tour made in June 2014. We just love it! Well organised itineraries. The places we visited were simply beautiful and amazing. A comprehensive collection of must visit places in Spain. Friendly and knowledgable guides. Higjly recommended.

Overall trip was good but the initial Barcelona part of the trip was a mess. There were no instructions left for us at the hotel. We would have missed the Barcelona bus trip as no instructions were left for us. If one signs up for an escorted tour, it should be escorted!

The Barcelona section of the tour was challenging as no information was provided regarding locations for the tour/pick up times etc and I had to contact their office to find this information out. The Madrid and southern Spain section was incredible and well worth it. Our guide Margarita was brilliant.

In the beginning the tour is a slow start, in Barcelona and Madrid, you basically get an airport transfer and half day tour to see the outside of popular sites. You're better off skipping the tour and just getting a hop on hop off tour or just get a metro pass and site see so that you're on your own schedule, seeing what you want when you want. By the time we did the half day tour we had already seen the sites on foot earlier in the day. The only thing we didn't get to do that was part of the tour is Park Guell which is really nice, that's the picture in the 8 Day Spain tour. The tour really starts after you go to Madrid and get on a bus to go to Cordoba through Toledo, which I could have bought the 4 day tour. There aren't too many entrance fees included, so you're on your own for a lot of it. The tour guide really was the savior on this trip because up to this point we were a little bummed with the package cause it seemed like we overpaid for some transfers and hotel bookings. Our tour guide Josep was very funny, gave us really good tips for food, where to go, and the usual tour history of each destination. The rest stops were nice, they were large and hardly a line for the bathroom. Josep and the bus driver Sergio were very patient with the group, at two separate hotels, each guest left their passport and had to return so we were almost delayed 30 minutes going back and forth to each hotel, but they were very kind and did not embarrass the guests. The excursions are additional cost and you have to pay in cash, but they are relatively reasonable at around 40EUR per excursion. If you opt out of the excursions, all the cities that you visit are walking friendly. When in Spain, you have to try tapas, gin and tonic, marzipan and their ham sandwiches. The hotel meals that are included are bland and in Seville you have to pay for your drinks, so you could skip these too even though they are included in the tour.

Awesome trip. Great way to see Spain for the first time. We added a few days before and after in Barcelona and Madrid at our own expense so we can explore on our own. Met wonderful people in our group. Our tour guide Hugo and our Driver Antonio were very respectful and knowledgable.

The best way to see southern Spain. We never thought a bus tour could be so fun and informative and we will do it all over again without any hesitation. All the tour guides in each town were very knowledgeable about the beautiful buildings we visited. The optional tours should not be missed. Seville, Granada and Toledo were definitely our super bonuses for this tour. Love it, love it, love it.

Skip this 8-day nonsense and just do the 4-day starting in Madrid. The only difference is that they pick you up at the airport and arrange subpar accommodations, buy you 2nd class train tickets and arrange a silly walking tour through attractions that are free anyways (which we didn't get on because the group left us and then wouldn't wait for us at the first stop). If you are capable of finding your own hotel for two days and exploring the cathedrals and Olympic stadium then I would not suggest you pay the added expense for the 8-day. It was more of a headache for us as Viator literally left us stranded at the hotel once and we had to find our own way to the train station and then nearly forgot us once we actually got to the train station in the next city. However, once we got on the actual tour part which starts day 3 in Madrid, it was really nice. Our tour guide (Josep) was fantastic and really made the experience for us. In each individual city we got great tours and was worth the money. But like I said, don't do the 8-day, just jump on the Madrid/Cordoba/Seville/Granada/Toledo tour.

It's good to have almost everything planned and transport arranged to the destinations. However, Madrid is all about sightseeing on the bus.

Great tour to see many cities in one week. The first part was not guided, and somewhat haphazard. In fact, no one showed up to pick us up at the Madrid train station. We did enjoy the Barcelona bike tour though (booked separately). When we joined the guided tour in Madrid, it was well organized and quite busy, to see all those cities. Good overview though, and our guides were all great. We did the 3 star hotels instead of the 4, choosing to spend the extra money on the optional tours/ excursions. If we had to do it again, we would probably upgrade, as the 4 star hotels were in better locations for exploring on your own, outside the tours. The accommodations were just fine. Very different food for American palates though!

The Madrid to Toledo leg of the tour was excellent. We encountered issues with the Barcelona leg as no instructions were given as to how the day tour was to be conducted. Instead of being picked up at the hotel, we found out that we had to go to the offices of Julia Travel directly to start the day tour. No instructions were left at the hotel nor were emailed by Julia Travel or by Viator (Julia maintains that it is Viator's duty - at that point the traveller is left between 2 conflicting parties). Needless to say, we missed the day tour and had to fend for ourselves. It appeared that the Barcelona leg is conducted by Julia Travel (Viator is only the middleman/broker) as a separate item from its Madrid to Toledo leg. The latter leg was more organized.

First 3 days wasting of time. Barcelona and Madrid tour were terrible. The Tour Operator did not have good preparation for the tour. The tour actually started last 4 days. Nevertheless we were happy with Andalusia tour.

At all cost avoid this tour operator. Very rude unhelpful staff. The sightseeing tours included in this 8 day package are all half day walking tours. Which are so rushed thru. Won't show the main attractions so you spend more money to go see on your own. Terrible hotels, no a/c ventilation water leakage

This was a well organized low budget tour. A good value for the money. All the hotels were excellent. The local tour guides were mostly very good. The agency was very helpful with special requests

The 4-day Andalucia tour was good. The local tour guides were great. The hotels, except for the one in Granada (Los Angeles Hotel) were not as good as we expected. By the way, the worst hotel was the one in Barcelona.

We were the only family with children (ages 16, 14, and 10) on this tour and it was pleasant and interesting for everyone of us. We only wished we had more than 7 days to explore the six cities we visited, but we still mananged to see a lot thanks to the pleasant and experienced tour guides from Julia Travel. The Hotels were good and well located - close to the market and metro._br/_ As for the transfers they were also arranged by Julia Travel. We were duely met at Barcelona airport, even though our flight was an hour late and again from our hotel to Barcelona train station and then from Madrid train station to our hotel by designated private drivers who were very frindly and gave us useful tips along the way._br/_ All in all it was a very nice and enjoyable trip.

I felt fabulous with the Toledo tour guided by a local guide who speaks very good English. _br/_ The arrangement for the Madrid sightseeing tour could be improved. We arrived at the hotel at around 1230, rush somewhere nearby the hotel for lunch and went back to the hotel at around 1:45 to meet the pick up time at around 2:00. looks like plenty of time for lunch? However, in spain, lunch time at the restuarant only starts after 1pm, sometime after 2pm! Managed to finish our lunch in 30 mins, rush back to the hotel, pick-up by an lady. Then, my friend and I were sitting at the bus for 30 mins, and were then driven to a car park. We waited another 30 mins. Nobody told us what was happening. The city tour started at 3pm! I am a bit upset to spend an hour waiting while having to rush for our lunch that day.

We had a very good experience with Viator service regarding the bookings. Then in Spain, Julia travel was also co-operative with our needs-although their organization about the bus tour and communicating the specific details about the meet time/place could have been better. Ask all the Qs before you start the tour. They are good with replying the emails too. Our bus tour guide could have been more pleasant and efficient, but I guess she was working the holidays..("she did not care about baby-sitting us"..in her own words). The local guides in each city were excellent though. If you have a choice, don't take this tour during the Christmas week as you will miss seeing the things scheduled to see on the 25th since all the places are closed. We did not get to see one of the main attractions scheduled for the 25th. Overall the experience and hotel quality was good. The beauty of the country takes your breath away..
