Barcelona 4-Hour Food Markets and Tapas Walking Tour
Barcelona, Spain
Enjoy this 4-hour food market and tapas-tasting tour and savor the real taste of Barcelona. Discover local produce at some of the greatest food markets in the country, La Boqueria and Santa Caterina. After working up an appetite wandering through the stalls, enjoy some snacks and a glass of wine at a couple of local eateries.
Meet your local guide in central Barcelona at 11:45am, ready for a 4-hour tour of Barcelona's culinary delights.
Together, walk to La Boqueria, the city's finest market for fresh produce, including meat, fish, and vegetables. This market, situated on the famed Ramblas, is very popular among locals. Next, make your first stop for tapas (small dishes). Your guide takes you to a place renowned among locals for its pintxos, small snacks that originated in the northern regions of Spain.
Next, continue your market tour by visiting the Santa Caterina market, a place with some very interesting architecture, notably its colorful, wavy roof. Listen as your guide explains the history of this market, which was built on the ruins of a ancient convent.
The last stop is a restaurant that offers tasty Spanish and Catalan meat dishes and drinks. Enjoy your time in this local's spot before concluding your tour at the Santa Caterina market.
There was a mix-up on the time we were at the meeting point at the correct time but the guide was not there. I called the tour provider and he told me the tour started at 2:00pm not 12pm although I had the voucher provided by Viator showing the 12pm time. He promptly sent a guide for us and it turned out to be a private tour which was wonderful. I would have liked to spend more time exploring the markets and less time eating/drinking but none the less it was a nice tour.

The food tour was great! _br/_ Our guide Aneta was very knowledgeable with the history of Spain, the food we tried, and shared some personal experiences with the sad terrorist attack that happened in the las ramblas area was touching. Highly recommended, Aneta was a joy. We both learned a lot from Aneta

This was a wonderful small tour with just myself and my traveling companion. The guide was absolutely lovely, and very knowledgeable. It was a nice way to get my bearings in the city before I ventured off on my own.
