Barcelona Electric Bike Tour with Tapas and Drinks

Barcelona, Spain

Combine Barcelona sightseeing by electric bike with tapas and drinks on a 3-hour city tour, led by a local guide! Fun and safe, the bike has an electric motor that kicks in as soon as you pedal, so your energy is saved for sightseeing. See landmarks such as El Born Cultural Centre and Frank Gehry’s ‘Golden Fish’ sculpture; explore Parc de la Ciutadella, Las Ramblas and the fishing port of La Barceloneta; and visit a bar for a total of three or four tapas dishes and up to three drinks.

Meet your guide at Avenida de la Catedral, central Barcelona, and hop aboard your electric bike: a regular two-wheeled bicycle with a handy electric motor that kicks in when you start pedaling. Riding your electric bike is simple, but your guide will deliver a comprehensive safety briefing to put you at ease.

Put on your helmet, and then pedal past Frank Gehry’s famous Golden Fish sculpture to Cathedral Santa Maria del Mar (Església de Santa Maria del Mar) in the district of La Ribera. Stop for a look inside the Gothic showstopper with its magnificent internal arches, and then pedal across the road to learn about Fossar de les Moreres. An important Catalan memorial site, the plaza is built on the site of a graveyard where fallen soldiers from the 18th-century Siege of Barcelona lay buried.

Make your way through the stylish neighborhood of El Born to see El Born Centre Cultural — home to a series of exhibits about 18th-century life in the city — and then ride along the tree-lined avenues that run through Parc de la Ciutadella.

The central park is home to the Parliament of Catalonia, so enjoy a quick stop to see it and strike a pose in front of its imposing façade. Then, continue through the historical fishing district of La Barceloneta to La Rambla, a bustling boulevard thronged by colorful market stalls and lively street traders. The street lies near the area of Las Ramblas, where several similarly enchanting avenues are found, so continue through it to see a blend of the city's old and modern sights.

Pass a cluster of cultural attractions including Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) and Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) while following your guide to an old-school Barcelona tapas bar in either El Born or Barri Gòtic. Sample three plates of traditional Spanish tapas — such as Manchego cheese, Organya fuet and Galician bread with olive oil — as well as up to three drinks of wine or soda (on Sundays the tour visits a different bar where you will have 4 pintxos and 3 drinks)

After the final tapas stop, follow your guide back to the start point where your tour finishes.

I highly highly loved this. Not only was it convenient riding an e-bike but the actual tour had a very local feel to it. The timing was perfectly enough and the people were amazing.

Riding electric bike across Gothic quarter was the most memorable moment in my and my husband's trip to Barcelona! With great pleasure we absorbed interesting and well selected information told by our fabulous guide Marcel, we enjoyed the fantastic views of Barcelona from different points of the city, after the ride had a warm conversation with our guide while tasting delicious tapas and drinking wine at a very interesting authentic restaurant where by the way we continued our dinning after Marcel left us I highly recommend this type of activity while your visit to Barcelona!_br/_ PS surprisingly and luckily for us, it happened there were just 2 of us me and my husband and the excursion took place. Thank you, Marcel!

First, our tour guide Julia was absolutely fantastic. She was very informative, relaxed and we had a wonderful time getting to know her and learning about the city on bikes. Five stars for her!! The only thing we would change about this tour was the restaurant stop at the end. We found the service there to be very unwelcoming and we did not receive all the things the tour had promised no bread and cheese, only two drinks. This was the disappointing part of our tour. Perhaps consider picking a different place. Thankfully we had Julia and she made the tour very worthwhile.

This tour was the highlight of my trip. Great way to see the city -- informative, easy to handle the electric bikes, and a great overview of the city. The wine and tapas at the end of the bike ride were the perfect way to finish out the tour. I highly recommend this if you are up for a little adventure. I would do it again should I return to Barcelona.

This tour was so much fun! We were concerned that we would not be able to operate the bikes but all went well. Our guide was helpful, kind and knowledgeable. This is a wonderful way to see some of the best neighborhoods of the city. The tapas and drinks at the end were delicious and plentiful. If you can ride a bike you can do this tour.

This was great! Our guide was Montse and her enthusiasm/knowledge really made this a fun experience. This was my first time on an electric bike and I found it easy to ride/not tiring at all. Montse made sure everyone in the group kept up and brought us to some really beautiful places around the city. The tapas and wine after the ride were a nice touch :

This was a great tour. Marcelle was an enthusiastic, fun tour guide who clearly loves his city. His English is excellent and we learned a lot about the different neighbourhoods that we visited. We felt safe at all times and the bikes and organization of the tour were very professional. The tapas and wine at the restaurant at the end of the tour were delicious. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Barcelona.

This experience was great for seeing different parts of the city. Don't expect to learn too much history but we were not going for that anyway. The tapas and drinks after were average but where we ate was a great atmosphere. Pablo, our tour guide was great and adjusted our tour based around the festival of La Mercè

This was a wonderful tour and both guides were great fun and showed us lots of sites ._br/_ It was a great and fun way to get around Barcelona and we ended up in a lovely restaurant for tapas and wine which was a lovely way to end tour and get to know the group. Sorry can't remember guides name but well done

Lots of fun, very enjoyable, easy learning-curve using the electric bikes. Unlike the description, helmets are optional and no one in my group of 11 wore them. While that would be frowned upon in the US, in Europe it's the norm. The guide was interactive and user-friendly, with good English skills. The tapas and wine and the end of the excursion were supremely enjoyable. I'd definitely do this one again.

I didn't realize I hadn't ridden a bike in awhile...lol. This was an eye opening tour. Sounds silly, but really our tour guide provided so much foundation to Barcelona and Catalonia, there would have been no way to get all of it without reading tons of books. The electric bike was awesome, I mean so little work while peddling. Some kids almost got run over, but we were able to avoid them lol. Our guide took us to parts we didn't even know we were missing. He told us all about the history and just made Barcelona that much better! The wine and tapas were good.

We had a great time and our guide was really nice. We toured the park and then the beach area and then had tapas and wine afterwards at the restaurant where Picasso first had his work on display, which was awesome. My only suggestion would be that there is more riding around on the bikes and less stopping and talking.

We had Moserat as our tour guide she was amazing! The tour was one of the best we have done, lots of knowledge of barcelonas history, great tapas, amazing cava and a great way to find out where to hangout in barcelona. Thanks so much

This review is only 16 months late but we had a fantastic time! Our guide was exceptional and she had a wealth of knowledge to share. Unfortunately, after all this time I can not remember her name. Piece of advice: don't accelerate the electric bikes going into a turn, especially in the cathedral square in front of hundreds of people. I'm still looking to find a clip of myself rolling across the square on YouTube.

Fabulous! We enjoyed our tour guide Pablo. And you can tell he loves what he's doing! It shows and besides his knowledge, he was fun and charming! Made all the difference! And now the tapas and the wine and cava at the 4 Cats was a highlight! Great food, drinks and company made it all worthwhile! We encourage anyone to do this tour and enjoy! Thanks Pablo and Heidel for the memories!!

We took the bike tour the evening that we arrived in Barcelona. It was an excellent way to get a sense of where we were in the city. Our guide Monse not sure if I am spelling her name correctly was adorable and very informative. We very much enjoyed the electric bikes too!! I would highly recommend!

Super fun! Montse was a delightful guide. Ditch the restaurant or skip the tapas, the place was terrible. They gave the tourists the stale bread, leftovers, don't waste one of your limited Spanish meals here : And I don't drink and only got 2 juices. Riding electric bikes was so fun that we spent another day just renting them and exploring on our own. A. I have better deal in the end. Signing up for a tour, you're mostly around other American tourists which isn't so inspiring for a European experience.

The guide was so amazing. He spoke English perfectly but he was kind enough to allow me to speak my broken Spanish to him. I was with a nice group of people which made the bike tour even better. The food was GOOD! I had a really nice time. We rode almost the entire city and thanks to it being slightly powered we got a small workout but were not tired at all. I really enjoyed it.

OMG!! This was SOOOO much fun!! I cannot recommend this enough. What a fun way to see Barcelona! My first electric bike experience was fantastic! The guide was super nice and it was a good group of people. One of my favorite parts of the tour was biking to Parc de la Ciutadella and seeing the beautiful water fountain. Tapas at the end at the 4 Cats was a great way to end the tour. Great, great time.

The best experience I have had while traveling in Barcelona! I am studying abroad and took my parents on this tour while they visited me. Our tour guide, Ale, was awesome and she was very knowledgable about Barcelona and its history. She even gave me many recommendations of restaurants and places for me to go while studying here. The tapas and wine were a perfect end to the day and it was overall a really great experience. I would recommend to everyone!

Excellent tour with a very good guide. Our guide Monsa was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We enjoyed a lovely easy bike ride with short stops at some of Barcelonas top tourist attractions. Following the bike we were ready for our tapas and wine. The tapas were very tasty and the bar tender recommended some excellent wine. Would definitely recommend this tour.

This tour was AMAZING. This was the first time my husband and I had ever done a tour of this sort. The electric bikes were awesome and so cool to ride. Our tour guides, Marta and Ali were very knowledgeable and informative. There were a total of 6 people including us, which was the perfect size. The bikes were a great way to get around the city quickly. I would have to say that El Born and The Gothic Quarter were two of my favorite spots. The tapas and wine at the end was the icing on the cake. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone that would like to stray from the typical walking tours.

Our group of 4 took this bike tour the day we landed in Barcelona. The location of the office was a bit difficult to find, but we also didn't have any grasp on the city yet. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. They've thought of everything for you, there are restrooms to use before you leave, baskets on the bikes, helmets and rain ponchos if you'd like, too. Our guide, Monteserrat ?, was a very knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all our questions. The E bikes were really fun and easy to use. Great tour, and a great way to get an idea of the layout of the gothic area and what else you may want to see and do while you're there.

Alli was just great and it was a very good way to get the lay of the land before diving into more in depth sightseeing in the days to come. The others in the group from England and Denmark where very enjoyable and the tapas and wine afterwards was an entire meal for me and we all kept trading stories for a couple of hours. Great fun and well worth the cost!

We had a great time! Safety and showing how the bikes worked was well explained. The tour was informative and interesting. Riding was pretty easy as on flat roads, through the park and along beside the beach. Tapas and wine at the end of the tour was amazing and was lovely to then sit and chat with other people on the tour. Tour guides were extremely friendly and helpful on other tips for restaurants and sightseeing etc.

This was my first activity after arriving in Barcelona. The location was difficult to find as it is a small pedestrian street in the Gothic quarter. I gave up after getting lost off the Metro and finally hailed a taxi and the driver had difficulty as well getting to the street. This has been a general problem with Viator reservations and I would strongly encourage Viator to provide a bit more detailed information or even a small map with some major streets for orientation in the booking reservation. Seriously!_br/_ The electric bike tour itself was great. Our guide Montse was friendly, helpful and full of information. It did not take long for any of us in the group to master the bikes even though at least a handful of us were post-65. You get to cover quite a bit of territory which is why I wanted to do this on my first afternoon/evening to get a basic orientation to the city and places I wanted to return to and spend more time. The tour accomplished this well. The tapas and wine were just fine and the bar itself is in a historical building with an interesting interior. Montse took the time during tapas to give us all extra tips about places and restaurants according to our personal desires. So thanks Montse for the tip about La Paradeta! I went to the one near Sagrada Familia and got my fill of seafood, including several things I had never had before.

A great way to explore Barcelona. Our guide was both informative and entertaining - thank you Jordi. You get to explore this amazing city from ground level, learning of its history and development. The Tapas is a great way to end the day, allowing you to discuss the day's discoveries and socialise with your fellow riders. An excellent way for first time visitors to get a sense of Barcelona
