Barcelona Ghost Night Walking Tour
Barcelona, Spain
Discover Barcelona at night on this ghost walking tour and find out what secrets lay beneath the city’s surface. Wander through Barcelona’s neighborhoods and alleys as you hear stories about paranormal activity, exorcisms, witchcraft and more. You’ll also see several architectural gems including the beautiful Church of Santa Maria del Mar and the Arc de Triomf.
Meet your friendly guide at Arc de Triomf and start your ghost night walking tour through mysterious Barcelona. Discover the Ribera Quarter, comprised of two separate districts: Sant Pere, inhabited by merchants, and Santa María del Mar, populated by sailors. Both districts were joined together during the 14th century to become the center of the new city.
Visit places featured in Sylvia Lagarda-Mata’s book Fantasmes de Barcelona, a collection of historical documents and the supernatural -- a spectral geography of the legends of Barcelona. Hear the mysterious and hair-raising stories and legends about events that have taken place in these areas of Barcelona.
Your experienced guide will lead you down Barcelona's backstreets and through the neighborhoods of Sant Pere, Santa Catarina and La Ribera while telling you spooky tales about exorcisms, witchcrafts, bewitched convents and phantom apparitions that invade the streets of Barcelona, such as the ghost of Canaletes or the lady of Barceloneta.
Pass by some of Barcelona’s architectural gems including the beautiful Church of Santa Maria del Mar, instantly recognizable by its octagonal towers and large, rose-shaped stained-glass window. After following a winding route through Barcelona's narrow streets, the tour will finish at Santa Maria del Mar Square.
Very amazing tour. Highly recommend. You will see the city without feeling like a tourist.

The tour was OK. I have to say that it was our last night at Barcelona 7 night total so we do know a bit of the place. Some story was very good. OK tour to do by night.

This was more a history tour, not anything scary but a lot of interesting folk lore and legends. You do get to walk in real interesting sections of Barcelona that you would not ordinarily see and try to keep tract of where you are because it is fun to go back the next day and see all the small shops that are tucked along these narrow streets. Guide was excellant.

Guide needs to be better story teller, to create more drama and suspense.

It was good. I cannot say too scary especially at 7:30 the sun is still out for a bit. Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable and I like to see thee back areas of the gothic quarter of Barcelona and here some of the history of it. This is a nice tour to take while in Barcelona.

Fun night, but silly and not scary stories!

This was a fun walking tour. The guide was quite good, informative and told many stories and legends._br/_ Beware that the tour takes you through small narrow streets and the cobblestones could pose problems for those with walking issues._br/_ We had no problem finding the meeting point at the Arc d'Triomph. This is a monument in a very large square but the guide holds a red umbrella and can be seen clearly she was right under the Arc! The guide was careful and ensured we all stayed together we crossed many streets and as we were quite a few in the tour, getting separated could happen easily._br/_ We found the tour interesting and entertaining and recommend it.... its good value for money.

There should be an opportunity to stop for coffee or a bathroom break in the middle. It would also be more interesting to visit sites of allegedly paranormal activity that come from more recent times than the Middle Ages.

We enjoyed the tour - it was a great way to see different parts of the City. Christina the tour guide was excellent. The tour was based on myths and legends from different areas of Barcelona rather than mega scary ghost stories but Christina delivered them very well. Would recommend!!!

Christina I think I have her name correct, our guide was great! The information and historical content great. Unfortunately, their are no ghosts in Barcelona. They must have left with the French!

Loved it. Not only was the tour guide incredibly captivating even if she specifically said that certain stories were more myths than real, but we got to visit the backstreets of Barcelona, the non-touristy areas where the locals seemed to hang out and eat and live. I only wish the tour was longer, the time flew because I was having so much fun!

The tour guide didn and #39;t show up so we had no ghost tour. It was a terrible experience. No one answered the phone numbers provided. We waited and waited and no one showed up. A very disappointing part of our trip.

Our tour guide Christina maybe? was amazing!! The stories weren't that scary but her story telling skills were on point! She kept us interested and was very fun and knowledgable to talk to in between getting places. The stories weren't conventionally scary but mostly like wives tales. I would recommend this tour for anyone interested in seeing the town at night and hearing some fun stories.

The tour was just ok. For the price its a fine way to walk around and get to know places in the gothic area of Barcelona. I think that what made it seem not worthy was that we booked it in spanish and a couple of people booked it in english so we had to hear the stories twice. This was a BIG mistake from your company, just imagine listening to a story twice and having to wait standing in the same spot when you want to keep moving.

This tour was a walk to 4 sectors of the city with a ghost story attached to each. The guide was a great story teller, it was a nice night, but no real ghosts. It was a fun tour for me and 17 year old son.

The tour was done as a bilingual tour. There were 40 people on the tour and it would have worked much better to do it as two tours - Spanish and English. It was difficult to main the atmosphere when you were only getting snippets of the story. The tour was two hours and could have been done as 2 1- hour tours and the experience would have been much better. Doing as two one hour tours the guide could have built more atmosphere. The saving grace of the tour was the places we went.

Not spooky or historical. Our guide was friendly and performed bilingual throughout, which added flair. I wouldn't recommend it.

Interesting stories and a chance to see some of the areas of Barcelona at night

The tour guide was quite good and the route that we explored was interesting. In spite of living in Barcelona for more than a year, there were places that I just found through this tour.

This tour took us into areas of Barcelona we would have not otherwise gone. The time went extremely quickly and the tour was both interesting and spooky! The tour guide spoke very good english and made us feel very welcome. Despite having a mixed language group, she made she everyone knew what was being said. I would highly recommend it..but go on the last night or you will be too scared to go out again after!

Guide was great storyteller and we enjoyed walking the back alleys of Barcelona at night. Nothing really spooky but fun!

The ghost portion was just OK, but the walk through the city was fabulous. I would have preferred the tour without the ghost portion.

We had a lot of fun. Walked through parts of Barcelona we would not have otherwise seen, met other travellers in an enjoyable atmosphere.

I didn't like it very much.I was waitning more suspense and there wasn't.The tour guide was nice but the tour wasn't interesting as I thought

Started late and ended early. The guides came late too, but they were good.
Review by: Rose Hanna R, October 2013
Guide was fun and engaging. Finding her proved difficult. No sign or flag to tell people who she was. But it was fun. Stories not terribly scary...some downright hilarious! But to kill a couple of hours and a good intro walking around the area (saw where locals hang out)..it was a good deal.

Neat way to see parts of Barcelona that even the locals do not know about. Tour was in Spanish and English so some of the suspense was lost having to wait for the guide to go back and forth from English to Spanish. Really interesting tour. Super tour guide. Highly recommend this tour.

This tour was very disappointing._br/_
It did not get off to a good start when the tour guide announced that she did not know much about ghosts !_br/_
The tour was advertised to be in English however it ended up bi lingual therefore after each story in English it was repeated in Spanish ! We persevered for 1/2 hour then gave up._br/_
Don't waste your money on this one.

Average tour. We've done ghost walks all over the world and this one was fairly average. However the walk around the city at night was gorgeous - take a camera that can do some nice night shots.

Great guide and interesting walk, very much enjoyed my 2 daughters aged 12 and 10 especially
Review by: Madmanjcm, June 2013
Unfortunately it rained during the tour or maybe that added to the overall irie feeling. Good stories told by the guide but I still think it would have been better without the rain.

It was a cold and rainy night... Perfect for a "ghost tour"!! Our guide was knowledgeable and entertained us with great stories and history of the city. Well done!!

Review by: Michael P, June 2013
The tour was awesome. Went to places in Barcelona that I would have never seen if it wasn't for the tour. I did like the fact that the tour guide did the tour both in Spanish and English.
Review by: Gabrielle R, June 2013
Very nice way to discover Barcelona. The visite was bilonguale = spanish and english. The guide was so interesting. I did two haunted tour in my own city in Ottawa and I rate this ghost walk a 4 out of five just because of the noise that the city have. Its a factor that I think, can't b change... But the reste was so intriguing. To do this tour, you got to love listing to stories and have a bit of imagination... Go back in your childhood, went you listen people tell you scary stories :)
