Mediterranean Cuisine Experience in Barcelona
Barcelona, Spain
During this 4-hour culinary tour, wander through Barcelona's Santa Catarina Market and choose fresh local ingredients like jamón ibérico, Manchego cheese, and olive oil with your chef/instructor and personal guide. Then head to your cooking class in the center of the city and learn how to prepare several classic Spanish dishes from these ingredients with a professional chef. Taste everything as you learn to cook it, then sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labor with cava and wine after you've finished preparing the meal.
Make your way to central Barcelona's El Born neighborhood at 11am to meet your instructor/guide at the Santa Catarina outdoor market. Taste fresh local ingredients like jamón ibérico, olives, tomatoes, chorizo, vinegar, Manchego cheese, and olive oil before selecting the best ones to bring back to your cooking class. With your chef/instructor and personal guide, head to the cooking class in the center of the city.
Using the ingredients you've brought back from the market, learn to prepare several classic Spanish dishes under the instruction of a professional chef. First, prepare an appetizer with Manchego cheese and chorizo to snack on while you learn to make peach gazpacho, patatas bravas, baked onion carpaccio with xató sauce, seafood paella, and for dessert — Catalan cream. Taste everything as you learn to cook it, then sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labor with cava and wine after you've finished creating the meal. The tour and class concludes around 3pm.

If you love to cook, or just like to eat, I highly recommend spending some time with Alex. The cooking part was fun and informative but the time spent in the market was what made this truly memorable.

alex was fantastic guide, teacher and a great chef. Thoroughly enjoyed class. Plenty of food, wine and information. One of the best cooking classes we have ever taken. Great setting.

Experience was great! Learned so much and the food was excellent! The business is pretty new and we could tell that they're still catching their stride with some items that need to be slightly better organized and a new space that still needs a little work. I highly recommend this class and I can't wait to try making these recipes myself! If you plan to shop the markets for your meals while you're in the city, do this class early, it really helps get comfortable with ingredients that might be unfamiliar and with labels and names if you're not fluent in Spanish.
